Door locks killing battery

I have searched everyone and not found anyone with the same issue so here goes.

I noticed my car was randomly locking. It happens whether it is parked, or if I'm driving. Doesn't seem to be any consistency, sometimes it's every 10 seconds, sometimes once per hour. But it will continue to do until the car battery is completely dead.

My keyfob works fine, my keyless entry buttons on the outer handle work fine, and I can manually lock/unlock without issue. However, on both the driver and passenger inside buttons, when I press down on the "Lock" button, nothing happens. If I press the unlock button, it unlocks before immediately locking again, every single time.

I tried removing the battery from the keyfob and it still happens so not that. At this point, I'm leaning twoards the master lock switch on the driver side. Just wanted to see if I could get confirmation before I go ahead and order it. Especially because the passenger button is behaving the same. Possibly related, but my passenger door was full of water the other day. I removed the weatherstripping and drained it and it has been ok since.

I don't recall if the '08's had lock cylinders on one or both front doors, but one of the cylinder switches is probably malfunctioning. Very common.

After a quick search, are you talking about the part you can put your physical key into? If so, it's only on the driver side.

To be clear, the ONLY symptom is that whether driving or parked with car off, if I press the lock button on either interior door, nothing happens. And if I press the unlock button, everything locks immediately. And of course the random locking till battery dying. Any other situation it functions as intended.

That could be the master switch bouncing around, but that isn't nearly as common as a failed cylinder switch. The master switch shares data lines with the cylinder, so either one can cause the system to get goofy. The cylinder switch on gen4~6's is actually located inside the lock assembly and connected to the cylinder by a linkage rod, not mounted separately on the cylinder like gen1~3's.

So it wouldnt be the actual cylinder "H0601-ET000"

Further searching says you're talking about this "80500-JB100" .. and sadly it appears there is one for both the driver and passenger side :/

The driver and passenger lock assemblies are never identical, they're always mirror images of one another. You must be looking at a wrong part.

The driver's side is 80501-, not 80500-

Correct, so in this case the driver version. I was just implying that there could possibly be 2 sides causing it.

Only if there was a cylinder on the right. Some gen3's have them, looks like none of the gen4's do. I wasn't sure about that.
