The electric door locks are malfunctioning intermittently. They will immediately relock when trying to unlock. This happens on both the driver and passenger doors.

Usually a bad lock cylinder switch in the driver's door.

If so, eventually you'll get mystery alarms and window roll-downs when the car is off. The key-insertion switch in the ignition cylinder can also cause misbehavior, but that's usually an inability to lock the car, not re-locking itself.

Would this be the case if the same result occurs when pressing the lock on the passenger side too?

I had the ignition cylinder replaced a few years ago. I hope that isn't an issue again.... not cheap to fix.

Yes. If the cylinder switch is falsing then it will keep telling the BCM to re-lock the doors when you unlock, or unlock when you re-lock, depending which direction the cylinder switch is failed. So the BCM will respond normally to either of the door switches, but then immediately obey the bad cylinder switch and change its mind.
