Door locks and blower motor

Ok as the title says, the door lock on the front drivers side is not responding, but only to keyless entry. The key opens the lock, or you can turn it by hand. Every once in a while it works, but 90% of the time no. Also as of late, the blower has been sporadically working. If we turn the car on and it's not working, it will usually come on after several minutes of driving. The blower motor happened about a year after the door lock problem. I was considering buying a new blower motor, but not sure if that's the problem, I suppose it could be an electrical problem. Any advise on what to look for? Should I buy the blower motor?
