Hi, 96 Q, touring.

My door locks have started acting up. I did some searching but no info on this problem.

Using the remote, the car locks fine, signal lights blink twice, all is OK.

When I go to unlock the car with the remote, the first time I hit the unlock button the driver door unlocks, no problem.

The second time, (which should unlock all doors) all 4 doors will unlock then quickly re-lock. This happens in about half a second. It is a click (unlock) click (relock). This happens about 70% of the time, the rest of the time, all 4 doors unlock no issues.

Using the key in the passenger side door, if I move it to the unlock position twice, all doors unlock fine, so it seems to be an issue only with the remote.

Any ideas? This is driving me nuts, and it significantly reduces the look cool factor when I am trying to get in the car.

My guess is that one of the lock sensors needs adjusted or is worn out.. if it think that one of the locks is jammed or didnt fully lock, it immediately locks again. Clearly its not from the drivers door..

Does it matter if you use the button inside the car? When you unlock all the doors manually from inside the car, do they stay unlocked until you lock them again...

My 94 has occasional lock issues, and I suspect its something with the door LCU's, they are known to be flaky at times.

Thanks Wes,

once or twice it has done it when I use the unlock button in the car, but this is once or twice compared to two out of three times with the remote.

Is there a way to clean the sensors?

Come to think of it, this has begun to happen after I replaced the fuel pump. Not right after, but it didnt happen before. Maybe I bumped something with the reciever, but then again, it is getting the signal, it just is relocking.

I hate it when the Q is getting looks for the wrong reasons. Everything else is pristine.
