door lock issue

I have a 2000 Nissan Quest the door locks works good but they do have one problem if u leave the keys in the ignition and shut all of the doors it will automatically lock the doors leaving u not able to get in. does anyone know what might cause this issue cause I'm afraid it's gonna lock my wife and kids out if the doors gets shut on accident or something like that I just don't like having to make sure we get the keys out when I shouldn't have too. if anyone can help me out it would be very appreciated
