hey guys, i need some help on this one, the car is a 92 na 2+2

recently, my doors have not been unlocking both doors.

i am still able to unlock drivers side and pass side individually

i can only activate the factory alarm by locking the pass side door on the outside
also, i can only deactivate it from the drivers side on the outside aswell.

i opened up both doors but its appears all the mechanical linkages are still connected. any ideas on whats going on?

so the passanger door lock doesn't lock/unlock when you key the drivers door? thsi would indicate you have a bad door lock solenoid

the factory alarm won't activate if the passanger door is locked first then the drivers side locked with key? that would indicate a bad door lock sensor

if you unlock the passanger side door with key and the alarm sounds that also would indicate a bad passanger side door lock sensor

seems odd to have so many parts fail at once, I don't know of a test procedure to the lock sensors but the actuator shoudl be prettcy simple, just add voltage, or test for voltage to the soleniod when the drivers door is keyed

thanks for the help evildky. i know its such a weird problem.

i forgot to mention that it will lock/unlock both doors from the inside only on the passenger side, but not the drivers.

but i just failed my smog today so i guess i have better things to worry about. one point over on the 15mph hydrocarbons! nox and co are passing and posting really low numbers. i can only suspect fuel issues. any takers?

check the ecu for codes, a bad O2 sensor, cts, fuel temp sensor, can all cause the car to run rich, if not a sensor issue, check the plugs and air filter, if thats all good the cat would be suspect

chances are it's just a corroded connector, clean both contacts as best you can and maybe add a bit of dielectric grease to prevent further corrosion

im getting 4.9 v with the car warmed up and running, there is resistance between the ecu harness and the sensor harness, however i'm getting no resistance from grounding the sensor itself. still getting code 42 so i think i'll just go ahead and get a new fuel temp sensor.

pulled the plugs to see how they're doing, plugs are fine but i see oil puddling up in the hole for the balance tube. i just changed the pcv valves with oem units last summer. can it be stuck already?

the pcv just keeps the ainr in the plenum to getting into the crank case, the whole idea of the pcv si to let air into the plenum, so either your oil restrictors int he pcv tubes (looks like a piece of pipe cleaner) is missing or you have excessive blowby (bad rings) also keep in mind that there is another half of the pcv system that lets crank case air into the intake between the mas and the tb's
