Just noticed my driver's side apparently went out (won't lock or unlock with key fob).

Any new cheap solutions from the dealer on this? Or is it still the $200 + 2 hours for install? That is going to rape me if there's no cheap way.

Did see one thing about aftermarket system, but would like to stay OEM.

Thanks

Also anyone know if its the same as Z33 actuator? They seem much cheaper.

Ok, apparently I'm lonely here.

Apparently the Z33 and G35 are different, found a friend with a hookup for the G35 one, so I should have it Monday. Cheaper, but still way too expensive.

Guess I'll be doing the install next weekend. If anyone needs any pics of the door with the panel off let me know.

Believe I will take off both of my handle covers and sand and repaint them while I'm doing this (they have a lot of scratches, etc).

As an FYI, when Infiniti looked up my door actuator part by my VIN and ordered it, it is the WRONG part. The one they sent had 3 wires (one for mirror) and connected at the door handle instead of just disconnecting at the actuator. Couple more weeks before I can swap the part and replace it, damn.

I don't need to be blinded by that speedo pic.

I should have the new actuator in 2-3 weeks, I'll take pics of everything when I swap it.

Shocked how easy it is to get the door panels off. I'm use to S13s, they are kind of a pain.

Unfortunately, I've had to take the door panels off the coupe and the old 05 sedan to reset the windows and replace a missing bolt. But yes, you are correct at least they are ez

New actuator should be to me by Saturday. So I should be able to get some pics of the install this weekend.

Hi Biggie,

My '03 Coupe started doing the same thing when I took it out of storage this Spring. Driver's door only. $200 plus labor???? Think I can work the door lock with my key for a while. I'm lazy but not that lazy. When the door won't lock at all, then I'll spend the money. Need to do other small repairs first. I'll keep my eye out for your pictures of the door repair though.

After a friend's hookup I"m getting the part for about $100 and doing it myself. Much better than $300+ for dealership.

Search around you should be able to find one cheaper than the local dealerships have them.

Damn, think the first part was correct, I was just thinking about it backwards. Now it doesn't look like its nearly as easy to replace (wasn't planning on needing to remove window/handle/etc).

Getting dealership to install it next week, they will rape me I'm sure.

Completed. I decided to do it tonight.

Sorry, no pics as I was just trying to get it done. WOW that SUCKED. And will suck for anyone with hands bigger than a chipmunk. Took me a little over 3 hrs from start to finish (mostly small stuff that shouldn't have taken that long and time to come upstairs to look at the FSM).

They never should have designed it like that, but I guess they figured they actually might last a while too.

Biggie....

After you remove the door panel and disconnect all the wires and what not, what do you do next?? do you have to remove that metal panel that is held on there by like 15 bolts, black and gold ones? Is that where the actual actuator is locked at?

Yeah have to remove all that and then the outside door handle. I had to follow the FSM completely.
