you can buy something similar from the dealer too. Basically it's like the unlock/lock/panic fob (not the I-key). It will send the same unlock signal wirelessly when you punch in the right code. I've never installed one, but I think they glue onto the door - and you can follow instructions in the service manual to program new fobs so you should be able to do the entire install on your own.

I don't know if I'd trust a $55.00 e-Bay part to keep my car safe. Either get an OEM Nissan part from a dealer or get a security system installed by a professional(i.e. NOT Circuit City).

I installed one after my Wife had to drive a spare set of keys 45 miles, Locked my keys in the car

Easy to install self adhesive and you program to your vehicle, made by Nissan.

Highly recomended by me

My 1993 Maxima has a door keypad integrated into the car (original design, not added on). Easily one of the best features EVER. I even prefer it over keychain fobs. I can lock/unlock the car, open the trunk, and roll down the windows with the keypad. So convenient...you'd have to try very hard to lock yourself out of your car. But it also introduces a VERY nice feature for people who live in states with cold winters: you CAN lock everyone else out of the car--even with the car running and the key in the ignition--and still safely get back into the car yourself. Nice for warming my car up in the office parking lot on winter mornings for sure. The newer modules might have some failsafe to prevent this, but I sure hope not.

The only problem with the newer dealer-installed addon keypads is that they're not particularly attractive.

This is the exact same concept as the wireless keypad that you mount on the outside of your garage so you can open your garage door. Those send the same signal as the opener you keep on your car's visor, only you have to type in a code to make it work. Same deal here. That little pad can be programed to send the same unlock signal as your key-fob after you type in a code. Simple stuff...usually works just fine. I only see two problems with it: How it looks on the car (how will it look after a few years of weather), and the fact that it's mounted with adhesive. If someone wants to be a pr*ck they could just pry it off.

So you could carry it with you, instead, and not have to worry about weather or folks who want to pry it off. Just a bigger version of the remote entry fob!

Could also put this hidden somewhere and use it just for emergency (since you already have a fob).

You're going to trust an eBay site and believe them?

Could always call the dealership and ask if that's there account. Probably is though.
