New to the forum. Hello. About 6 months ago we bought my son a 1994 300ZX, NA, 2+0, 5 speed, Emerald Green with about 120,000 miles from a one family ownership. Overall its a nice driver car. Unfortunately, my son hit a curb and banged / dented the passenger side rocker panel and bottom of the door. We were told by the body shop that we need to replace both (one shop said they can "pull out" the rocker, but not the door).

Here are my questions :

Please confirm that only 2+0 coupe doors will work (from what I've read 2+2 doors are different, and convertible doors too)?

Please confirm that I should be looking for only 1994 - 1996 doors?

I have been told that 1990 - 1993 doors will work too, I would just use my door panel etc. My car had the seat belt on the body, not the door. Can I use a door that had the seat belt in it and just install my door card / window / etc. ?

Yes, only 2+0 doors will work

You can use doors from 90-96 but like stated will have to use your panels. You may have to make new holes for the seat belt to bolt properly in the 90-93 doors. I know this has been an "upgrade" so to say for some members, but am not 100% sure if its a direct bolt on.

Only 2+0 doors will work IIRC, doors from all year 2+0 can be used on yours as long as the door card is replaced (as you mentioned). Very sorry to hear about the car, glad your son is ok and hopefully this is the last time he does something like that. GL

I've merged your two threads together for best results. It's not advisable to create multiple threads on the same topic, as it leads to confusion and other problems.

I am curious about the vert door and 2+0 door. I have heard the only difference is the actual window, not the door itself, can anyone confirm? I know the seat belt is attached to the door, so obviously that is different.

Thanks, and yes, happiness is that no one was hurt. He slide it sideways while downshifting around a turning circle (and people think SC is not worldly - we have turning circles). Most hurt was his pride, the the rocker and door suffered (the door hit a sign, the rocker bit it on the high curbing).

We found a good used door (off a '95) for a $100 at a knackers yard, and the shop will "pull" the rocker back in place. The car, while nice, is by no means a show car and is really only a daily driver. For under $1,000 it will be all set to rights.

He did attend the "Street Survival" school this last weekend, which we had signed him up for before this little off road experience. I think he learned more and was more attentive than many of the other students. Best $75 you can ever spend on a new driver. Classroom and auto-cross like exercises (emergency stop, emergency stop with turn, skid pad, single and double high speed lane changes) all done in your own car and taught by SCCA instructor volunteers.

Thanks again for the technical knowledge!

Thanks for the welcome. I regularly enjoy forum for my various rides (Honda and Nissan daily drivers and vintage BMWs and Citroens). While I "lurk" mostly, the resource is invaluable.

Cheers
