door holder doesn't

maybe that's not it's official name, but you know what i'm talkin about. the tongue that slides out of the door with the detents in it to hold the door open part way? anyway, on the 97, LF there is no resistance at the detents and she won't stay open.any adjustments that can be made? doesn't look real easy to replace from inside the door.....

Try soaking it w/ some penetrating oil for a few days, then TAP it with a hammer, it helped mine. Then some spray grease once it's loosened up. Mine squeeked then went into non- working mode.

i hadn't thought about the spring just being stuck. thanks, i willl give it a try.
