Hey guys,
Is there a pin and bushing kit for these doors or do I have to replace the complete hinges? Mine are shot, not loose, but there's quite a bit of play in it when I lift up on it when it's open. If there is a kit, where would I get it? I looked on Infiniti parts and didn't find one there.
Thanks

You'd have to replace the entire hinges, no pins & bushings on R50s.

I've read of some supporting the door with a floor jack with a 2x4 underneath the door and essentially "resetting" the door by jacking it up slightly to realign it. My driver door sags too, but I haven't tried this method before.

Yeah I read that somewhere on here too. Unfortunately mine doesn't just sag, I can move it up and down 3/8 - 1/2 inch at the handle end when it's partially open. I could get that out of it by readjusting the hinges to compensate for the droop, but it would still move. It probably moves around a little at about 90-95 mph if anybody were to ever drive it that fast. They're just worn out. Thanks for the reply Town. I was hoping not to have to do the complete hinge. I've never done it before and not sure I can get it aligned right without spending all night on it.

My front drivers door drops a bit as well. Hinges have a lot of play in them, especially the top one.
Another job for this spring. Anyone know what a new hinge costs (roughly)?

I searched online and I found them to be around $50 new from dealer. I also found some used ones on eBay for much cheaper.

Don't know if posting links is against the rules. If it is delete it or tell me and I'll take it down.
I found them for $37 here.

Links are fine, no worries. Aftermarket hinges don't seem to be available, and that's the lowest price per hinge I've seen yet. Be aware that while only one hinge may be causing the sagging, you may as well replace both at the same time for everything to be nice and tight.

Ok good. I went ahead and ordered some, so I'll see how they are. And my next link will be to a video showing how to repaint a door! :)

please post up an update (in this thread :) )
My front driver door sags - not so much loose as you've described it.

I got them and they are the exact same oem units. Wasn't very fun putting them on, but now my door shuts like it's supposed to. I do have a problem, my overhead light doesn't turn off now. Cargo light does and I can push the switch in with my finger and the overhead will turn off. So I'm going to try and spin it around because obviously it got bent a little as the door sagged. All of my door controls work, but the parking lights don't flash when I lock the door with my key fob. I'm not sure what's causing that? Maybe it's related to the switch for the overhead light.

Make sure the door switch is making good contact when the door closes. You can close the driver's door, open the driver side passenger door and look through the gap to see how well it's making contact.

Thanks, I'll check that tonight or this weekend. By the time I got the door where I wanted it, I didn't feel like messing with it anymore last night. Kind of wears you out by yourself.

so you only got the hinges? The hinges that bolt to the door that is.
did you have to get the hinges that bolt to the body of the car?

No it's the complete set, body and door, top and bottom, everything you need.

Thanks, Randy.

I went to the site you noted above and found this: http://orderinfinitiparts.com/parts/200 ... am=3830385
I only see part# 21 and 22 (hinges) but from the looks of it, it only connects to the door? or is the diagram incomplete in showing the entire hinge?

Yeah, it's just a bad drawing. I asked them when I ordered if it was the complete unit. They said yes, and it was when I recieved them. Make sure you tell them what side, I can't remember if it was different numbers or not.

I looked at the inside door Town, and it was barely touching. It was even starting to blink the door ajar light when driving. Part of it is the worn plastic coating on the door stop and part is probably my door has been torqued a little from my hinges being not right. I wrapped electrical tape around the locking stop, and took off the rubber boot on the switch and placed a small washer inside and that seems to have done the trick. I really don't feel like trying to twist my door back into shape, so I'll live with it as is for now. I'll eventually replace the door stop though. It's a shame that I have to buy a new one just because the plastic is worn out.

Glad it was an easy fix. My driver door was hit and it was replaced or repaired, but there was a dent where the door stop rubber bumper was so I fixed the surface with Bondo until it made good contact without affixing a bumper.

Door switches sure seem to fail often. My front passenger door needs a new one, it got obliterated. Probably from too many door slams from the girlfriend :poke:
