Did an interesting little tweak over the weekend. The driver's outside door handle was a little loose, so I removed the door panel and tightened the 2 10mm nuts on the inside. It made it so solid that I did the rest of them too. I could only reach the front nut on the rear doors, but it still made a significant difference. As I've only got 85K on the car, I'll bet there's a lot of loose handles out there. I really appreciate how the car is designed to come apart and go back together gracefully. If I tried that in some of my previous American iron, things would be worse when I finished rather than tighter.

Could you explain how it felt more solid?? Like the door closing sound or what? or just overall feel...

Sorry to be nitpicky, but this sounds kinda cool... How loose were they?

The driver's door handle you could actually feel wiggling a bit when you used it, the others you had to look at the gap between it and the door when you grabbed it. The sound of the door closing was more of a solid thunk on all doors after the tightening.

I've experienced the same on Q1. Another thing I've found is that the upper edge of the handle will build up some sort of corrosion causing it to catch or squeak just slightly. Cleaning it off really made a difference too. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference.

Good stuff,In relation the the doors...can the Q doors be re-aligned? When i was having a problem on the black Q w/ the security system not recognizing the doors were closed i took it to a shop to get it re-aligned so the locks and sensor line up flush... They couldn't figure out how to do it. Can it be done? even on this new Q the rear doors close with a better sound and less effort than the (more used/abused) front ones
