Door Handles Black???

hey guys just bought a 03' 350z red, really excited about the car, i was pretty iffy about it because they are really common but i drove it and love it:)

the first thing im doing is painting the door handles black... any ideas?anyone know how to take them off? and to just paint, or fine sand the handles first?

or anyone know a company i can order black oem handles?

Only thing i can think about is to remove the whole assembly. Dasoupdude has a thread that tells you how to (just kidding). Disassemble pieces, sand it down, primer, paint i think flat black will look pretty sick. Make sure to lube everything up again before final assembly. I don't believe they have black oem handles at the dealer. Good luck!

i don't recall ever seeing black OEM handles, but the black handles on the red would look amazing for sure. I would go with a satin black, flat is to "rat rod" for this car. Satin black it like a semi gloss black, or jet black.

Also agreeing w/ xjmx, ask dasoupdude how to get them off!!!!! LOL

LOL.Try some marking paint that comes off easily. Mask the door and paint with it. If you don't lile it you can always take it off.

Just remember that door handle gets rubbed often. You need strong paint.

so i was thinking OEM black paint... no flat not glossy, i used it on my RX7 and it came out nice:)

and i was thinking of powder coating stock chrome wheels for now... any ideas with that?

Don't forget to clear coat the handles so the paint stands up to the elements and what not. They make different levels of gloss too so you can go from flat all the way to mega high gloss.

im gettin it in 4 days, even if i wanted one earlier legally i cant. You cant legally own a car in the state of ny till u are 17. Its a silver 04 track 25,000 miles how do i post pix? Sorry i forgot, i have 1 pic of it.

Grab an 800 grit sand paper, masking tape, a rattle can of High-gloss black and a can of gloss clear coat. Walk up to a 350Z in the office parking lot after 10AM. Do the stuff in 20 mins and take some pics with your digital camera.

No car buying needed.

got to "tinypic.com" ..... its the easiest way to host pictures.... make sure you don't put a huge one on here though, thats always annoying. also make sure you type "pic" and not "pics" - not the same.
