I know this topic has been discussed some on the forum. Hoping to get some current information. Like a lot of folks my 2009 Rogue door handle froze and Broke. I bite the bullet for the $70 diagnostic fee. The dealership says they have no idea when the new part will be here . They are pretty vague about whats going on ?? I get the impression the plastic piece that holds the cable is being redesigned ?? IMO it needs to be a metal plate not a piece of plastic that cracks when wet and cold. Anyone have any current info on the problem ?? I'm guessing with the recent ice storm across the southeast they have a lot of broke doors and unhappy customers. 4 bad disks in my back crawling thru from the back seat to open the door is no fun. I have discovered if I run the ft seat all the way up when exiting the vehicle makes it easier.
If anyone has a recent service # it would be helpful the one I found listed on previous topic seems to be missing ?? Expired ??

My experience.

Rear passenger door would not open inside or outside. (child safety lock was on too)

Brought to dealer.

They seem to dismiss the whole door handle in cold weather bulletins.

Looked at my car for an hour.

They said I had a broken actuator. Personally, I didn't see any sign that my door was even open to diagnosed the problem.

Dealer wanted to charge me nearly $600 to fix the issue.

I left and said I think about it.

The dealer didn't even charge a diagnostic fee which I was expecting. Why they throwing that egg away? Strange.

Went home, a few days later I opened the door and saw a broken cable then proceeded to fix it myself. The cable holding the round metal ball broke free. Not a true fix but I McGuyvered it really.

Working ever since.

Saved $600.

End of story.

Good Luck!

Any tips on how to Do It Yourself ?? Did you need to make a new bracket ?? Wish there was a UTube video. Feel like I could DIY with a few tips.
