Seems like a pretty simple problem but i've searched for days and have found nothing definitive...

The drivers side door does not close all the way. There is about a 1/8th inch gap from the door to the back portion of the car. It doesn't close enough to get the sensor to turn the lights off in the car so i have to adjust it so it's off all the time.

I don't see any way to move either the latch or the thing the latch hooks onto, but did notice that the innards of the latch seem kinda loose... I took the inside of the door off and wiggled things around a bit...

Any ideas?

You'll want to make sure the latch mechanism is secured tightly inside the door)... there's 2 screws on the inside of the door edge.

Also, the striker plate on the body may be out of alignment, but you can check that after securing the latch mechanism.

When i looked at the door i saw the 3 screws holding on the latch that are on the door, and the two that hold thte latch on the car. None of those are adjustable and are all tight. Is there something else i can do or check?

Ok I still don't get what i can adjust. I don't see anything adjustable on the door. The FSM says the striker is adjustable via a shim but i don't see a shim and the holes behind it are threaded holes that don't move...

I'm lost... can anyone help me out with a picture and explain this maybe? Are there screws i can tighten or adjust behind the door panel that i can't see unless i take the inside door panel off?

the striker does move. trust me on that. just loosen them very slightly and tap it back with a hammer.

Sorry for the merciless thread jacking I've been doing today. But what about a door that doesn't close very easily? My passenger side door always needs quite a "Shove" to get the damned thing closed all the way, however my driver side constantly closes on it's own. Is there some kind of adjustment thing I can do to the hinges?
