door chime

anyone here been into the dash enough to get a good look at the door chime? specifically, the location of the lil' bugger and how / if its wired? i know about where it is, but im just wonderin if its accessible without tearin too much out. and if i can cut into the signal to just it, or if its powered off a chip board or something

reason im wanting to is, i was thinking of switching the wire to the chime so that when im cleanin the car or something id otherwise have the door open for, i can do it without the damn thing ding-ding-ding'in

not sure on location in the Z33 but follow the sound it should be under the dash somewhere, and should have a disconnect in the leads

or oyu can disconnect your door pin, or just take the key out

The door doesn't chime if your keys aren't in it........ At least mine doesn't

thanks mike ... never lock w/o the fob, so you may be in for the big letdown, although, im sure ill leave my headlights on atleast once. lol

nah, like i said, im not removing it, im switching it. as in, a push button switch. push once, it opens the circut, no chime. push it again, & everythings back to good

for anyone that cares, i did find the lil bastard. its in the back of the gauge cluster right behind the 5000 RPM mark on the tach.

or turn up the stereo untill you can no longer hear the ding, or the neighbors callt he cops, whichever comes first

good find, post pics of the location if you can. Who knows someone might want to put a light to go with that chime....you know some peeps are forgetful
