Bought my 08 Rogue last October and recognized the dirt problem right away from the scatches on the body where the door bottom weatherstrip rubbed the trapped dirt against it.

I got the same story from the dealer that others had gotten. Install a clear protective strip. I saw it only as a stop gap measure. It would just get chewed up.

I went right down and bought a 1/2 inch square EPDM automotive door weatherstrip with pressure sensitive adhesive (on one side) from the local hardware store. After cleaning up the body, I slid under the car and installed the weatherstrip (sticking it to the body) in the gap between the body and the door bottom weatherstrip. It ends up just below the scratched area. I also installed it on the rear door in the same gap along the rear wheel well. It is hardly noticeable and solved the problem completely.

Here's one for you! On the new, redesigned 2009 Murano, they changed from the old design that had the door bottom stop before the bottom of the body so that there was a door sill that had no problem. The new Murano now has the same door and lower seal as the Rogue, and will have the same dirt problem! Furthermore, I pulled up beside a new Titan, and noticed that the door went all the way down, with no sill, and I bet has the same seal arrangement.

Nissan has really blown on this design feature. But, please spend $20 on some weather stripping, and spend 20 minutes installing it. Do it before your body is scratched right through to bare metal and starts rusting.

Any chance you can show us some pictures where you installed the weather stripping. I don't quite follow where you put it. ThanksRandy
