In December, after about 3 hours of rain, the car started "whining" while sitting in the driveway with no one around it. Took it to the dealer after they opened the next morning (the car made the noise all night and while driving there), they determined that the little beeper in the driver's side door had indeed shorted out in the "on" position. Three weeks later they install the new beeper (it had to be ordered).

Last night, less than three weeks after installation, the new beeper started singing in the rain again, again while by itself in the driveway. Back to the dealer this morning. This time I had them check the cables to see where the water was getting into the system. They found water in it this time. They think they identified some screen that water must be dripping through.

New screen, new beeper, new rubber around the screen ordered. Hopefully installed in about a week.

Since we had no trouble with it last winter, I'm guessing that some rubber started hardening in 120* heat last summer and is no longer sealing properly.

Anyone else have a door beeper short out yet?

Gee, it only took a month to get the parts and put them in. Dealer installed the new beeper along with the new seals today. Let's see if they last longer than two weeks this time.
