I had just turned on my car yesterday and went to close the door while I put my bag in the trunk and noticed that the door wouldn't close. I tried about 5 times, and it just kept bouncing back out, as if there was a spring in the way. On the 6th try, it finally shut, but would not open. I had to enter the car through the passenger side and went directly to the dealer (exiting through the passenger side). Initially, they thought something might've froze, but when they inspected it, they realized that it was a mix of some freezing, but that the "actuator was on its way out." They quoted me for $482 "Drivers front door actuator - Needs drivers front door actuator binding - 1.5hrs." Does anyone know if there might be a cheaper fix for this?

Also, my passenger door makes a clicking sound, but only at the angles where it stops. If it is opened only a small amount, before reaching the first stop point, it will not make a sound. The dealer quoted me $201 "Passenger front door strap - Needs passenger door check strap - 1.5hrs." Will I run into further issues down the road if I don't fix this and just live with the sound? Is there a cheaper method of fixing it?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas/happy holidays, everyone!

I had an issue that sounds the same as your passenger door; only in my driver's door. If you look at the black plastic hinge strap, there are two 10mm bolts on the door itself. These bolts had worked loose over time, causing a clicking noise when the door was opened all the way.

My driver side door is making a clicking sound while opening and closing on the door stop. I took it the dealer and they said it was the door stop itself going bad. I havent took it get repaired yet and they had to order the part but its some where around 230 to get fixed.

Like others have said make sure the door strap to door screws are not loose. I had this happen recently in both of my cars. M37 and Quest. There should be a plastic cover you need to pop to expose the screw(s). It will make popping noise while opening /closing door if loose.
The other problem seems like something you may need to get fixed.
Good luck

I was actually looking for a mod to lock the doors on drive and found this:

I didn't look at the whole thing, but you should be able to fix this yourself from my quick scan.
Search the ENTIRE forum, other people have had this issue.

I checked the 2 screws on the door(inside where hinge is) and and the 1 screw thats attached to the door stop. All was in tight. I can see a screw in the hole where the door stop goes in the door and see that it is loose but there is no way to get to it unless I take the door panel off( I tried today but was unsuccessful). I think I will just let the dealer take care of it. It makes the popping noise at every stop the door should make closing and opening.
