I have a new Macbook Pro and all I want to do is get Doom 1 and 2 for it but I can't find it. Has anyone come across it? Does it exist? Doom is really the only FPS I like, but I can't play it.

I've found some bizzaro way to trick my computer to play an illegal copy of a PC version but I'd rather get a proper setup.

I just tried it out and it wouldn't let me download the file because I don't run Windows. I don't know. You'd think you couldn't spit without hitting Doom this day and age. Alas the Mac version of Doom eludes me.

Thanks for trying though!

Bootcamp...use internet explorer to view the site. That should work 100%

LOL...use bootcamp then download the PC version and run the program in bootcamp.

Don't use bootcamp, use fusion.

You can still find the box set Windows Collector's edition of DOOM (with DOOM II and Final DOOM) for $10 at Walmart and similar stores. Buy that and use the above programs to run them on your Mac.

Ugh, I'd hate to have to run either Bootcamp or Fusion, but I guess if I want to play my favorite PC game it's what I'll have to do. There is just too much time to kill at work right now.

Thanks everyone.

I'm guessing Bootcamp and fusion are windows imulators? I know nothing about mac but I know alot about doom, and what you need to do is download one of the many mac supported doom source ports. Back in 1997 the source code for doom was released which let programmers add new features to doom or support for other operating systems, all you need is the source port of your choice and your doom.wad or doom2.wad (any version of doom will come with these files even the steam ones).

This is just the first one I found that supports mac, happy dooming

^ PERFECT!

My brother told me about legacy (or something like that) but he said it was a PC only thing. I looked for it myself but I guess I failed at the internet.

Now I'm going to grab the WAD files from my brother this weekend and finally play some Doom after about 3 years of looking (half-assed looking).
