I have an 04 sedan AT, I was drifting around in this parking lot on snow for a good 20 min, and then I think I must've had the VDC and forgot to turn it off, and when I did, I was unable to slide around as freely, did I mess my ECU or is this a common thing? It seemed to be fine when I trieds later. anyway. Is this happening to anyone else in snow?

I should've just got a 6MT

LMAO!!

If the VDC is off you may spin freely... if the VDC is on... you will not have free reign

In short VDC on = VDC off =

No, I know that, but my first post was kinda confusing, sorry, It was fine, I went around and around and around the parking lot, having a ball, then I think saw the "SLIP" light blinking excessively, and then (for a short time) It wouldn't let me get the " " full reign back.

does this make sense? Thanks

Did it say "VDC Off" with the slip light stuck on by chance ? If so my 6MT does the same thing and then it wont let me turn VDC on again until I pull over turn off the car and then restart it. Err well at least it did it to me the one time I tried it anyway. All was fine after restarting the car.

When I go to the track I heat my rear tires for a second or 2. If I brake stall and leave my foot on the brake the even with the VDC off it will stop my from spinning. If I take my foot off the brake after a second or 2 it will spin up to the line.

The VDC is funny.... after you spin a little it gets retarded and really tries to prevent wheel spin. Try turning the car off next time wait about 30 seconds and restart the car. This seems to reset the VDC kind of...

You really know how to have fun. I always drive with the VDC OFF. Even then, on take off, the car tries to wrestle control from me, as the wheel spins.

when i have VDC off, if my tires are spinning unevenly between sides it will still kick it...just seems to have a higher tolerance for spin...

weird...??

Even the VDC off if you spin hard enough it will still engage. Kinda sucks when your really tryen to pull out and get loose.

I bet if you take your G back to a dealership, they will let you trade it for a 6mt or X....give em some $$$$

BTW, my daughter recently found out that she earned 2 gold key awards and 1 silver key. Silver key is for her portfolio, 1 gold is for a Music CD cover she is designing for a local band, other gold key is for a stick drawing.Award ceremony is this Sunday...keep your fingers crossed for scholarship MONEY!!!!! (she also earned a gold key award as a jr).She wants to own her own design company and also sell paintings......can you relate?!

Hey Man! Good for her!!! I know how competetive it can be, I would say stick to painting as a hobby, and focus her energy on business matters, That's where the cash is generated, but with anything, if she enjoys it, and people like her work (apparently they do ) I'm sure she can pursue whatever she enjoys most,

COOLNESS! I've been trying lots of ways to generate business, but so far things have steady with little or no effort whatsoever, I guess you just build a name for yourself, and take it from there, once you're established it's way easier to convince a client that "NO, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED!!!"

Tell her best of luck!

Oh yeah, and the donuts!!! I did my best to wipe the **** stains off the seat from my girlfriend today when these cops came up to me when I was alone with my girlfriend, cruising sheepishly in the sudden presence of a police officer " LIKE WHERE THE HELL DIDHE COME FROM!!!"

I was laughing when he came because he must've seen me just do a 100 ft. slide sideways around the vacant parking lot he said, hey, that's a nice car, you wouldn't want to get that thing bumped around and my girlfriend starts to say how she always warns me about this an tthat and I'm just like with a cop on my left and my girl selling me out on the right... ahem, bitzh ridin shotgun!!! jj, and I was just having fun, the cop was more than understanding from his apparent appreciation for the vehicle, I can't enjoy my car now with her in it...

I think I accidently turned it on because I kept seeing the "SLIP" light flashing, I just got the car 2 months ago, and really only have a little time each day to enjoy leasurly cruising etc... So, I think this was just a combination of bad slippery conditions (during snow storm) and my inexperience with the limited slip in extreme conditions... but hey, I think "most" of the G owners here know how to have fun, eh Jacko Even with the 5AT manual mode, I still have fun, and enjoy the fact that I can at least control what gear I'm in, I think the dated "OD" mode on older vehicles would be a certain dealbreaker...
