Welcome. I'm sure you're posting in KA-T since your asking about turbo-charging your KA24E?

I'm sorry I can't answer you about the transmission thing, but the FMU I can.

An FMU is sometimes called an RRFMU, or Rising Rate Fuel Management Unit. Using the stock injectors it will increase the fuel pressure for every pound of boost, through vacuum sources. Most FMUs used in KA-T are 8:1. Retaining the stock injectors allow for the stock computer to be used. For a T25 or similar turbo running 7-8 lbs of boost, this is perfect - with a small timing retard to be sure.

The FPR is the fuel pressure regulator, and this just makes sure the fuel pressure stays correct within the rail coming out of the fuel pump. Your still going to need a bigger fuel pump to handle it. The stock FPR will work as long as it's still good.

If you keep searching, you'll find all these answers on NICO

The trannies from a single cam will mount onto a dual cam motor they are basically the same thing i know this because i used a single cam transmission on my convertible which is a Dual cam

i just didnt understand why a fuel pressure regulator is needed if the fmu bumps the pressure up and i was told that the t25 was 2 small for a ka true or just thier opinion?

With the fuel pressure regulator, it would just flow right through the system without any pressure. The FPR goes at the end of the fuel rail iirc, and makes sure the rail holds pressure - otherwise it flow right back into the tank at no pressure.

A T25 is small, yes. But it will work for a 7-8 lbs of boost setup with an FMU pretty well if your looking for a little power boost and nothing over ~220ish rwhp.

i believe everything devilmb said is correct.

plus, the transmissions for sohc and dohc are the same.

you don't want both an aftermarket fpr and fmu - you don't need both. for fuel, you can either get an fmu or bigger injectors. bigger injectors are prefered, but then you need some electronic hardware to control and tune. fmu's won't affect your off-boost performance, although it's still recommended to get some tuning hardware.

it sounds like you're trying to do things cheap, so get an fmu. it will work well with the t25 on less than 10 psi.

if i remember about this thread tomorrow, i will show you how to choose the proper fmu ratio.

also, the searching can be difficult. when you're searching, put in certain keywords that you think a member would have used if he were posting the same question... something like "sohc transmission dohc same".

i used those keywords and look what the first thread was: zerothread/350981

i wasn't going for cheap more like simple cause like i said i don't know alot about all the different types of tuning. i mean i would much rather go all out. i just got to figure out what the best setup is going to be for a daily driver.
