I just bought my first 240sx. The owner stated that it has a bad timing chain but he wasn't sure. When I turn the key the motor tries to turn over but doesn't. We have a nissan maxima that had a bad started and my father say it sounds like when the starter went bad. What is the problem?

Need more information. Do you have spark? Fuel? Is it timed right? Is your battery fully charged? etc etc. The more the info you provide, the more easily we can help you.

Ok I will go out today and see I am hoping its not the timing.
