I ordered a wiring harness from these guys a little while back. I realized it was not the harness I thought I had ordered, so I emailed them to see if I could send the part back for an 80% refund. They said that would be ok, but I would need to include the original shipping label. I included the label and sent the part back. I followed up a couple of weeks later and was told that it didn't have the label. Having prepared for such skullduggery I sent them a picture of the label on the package while on the post office counter. Then today I got a response stating that one of the prongs was bent and that the part had been installed, so they wouldn't be refunding me. This was a complete fabrication. The part had not been installed nor damaged in any way. They lied to me so they don't have to send me my money back. :wtf2:

What really rubs me the wrong way is that they said to send it back and I spent even more money to have the part shipped back to them. So I'm out the cost of the part, the original shipping and the return shipping and they have the part to sell to some other customer. I wish I would have gone to Yelp before purchasing from them, because based on their reviews I probably wouldn't have ordered from them in the first place.

It sounds like you have enough information and documentation to report this fraudulent business practice to your state attorney general. I have used them three times (Mirage Limo, Sprint and Direct TV) when companies tried to do me dirty with fantastic albeit slow results.

Thats very strange. Many members here, myself included, order from courtesy because of their awesome part lookup system. I've had nothing but good experiences with them, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on this.

You ordered from www.courtesyparts.com?

This is probably the first time I've heard a bad thing about Courtesy Nissan.
I've bought my stuff from them many times without any issues.

I've had some very minor (item not in stock when I was told it was) issues with them, but nothing on this scale. Not sure if something has changed in management in the mean time, but I'm a little surprised to hear this myself.

It is definitely Courtesy out of Richardson, Texas. This was the first time I used them (and last). Their site seemed good and I had no complaints about the site or the arrival time. Looking at the recent Yelp reviews it's pretty clear that the management (whether new or old) is not doing a good job.

They lied to me about the label (assuming I wouldn't be able to prove them wrong) and when I sent them proof that the label was affixed to the box they came at me with some other bullsh1t I can't prove is wrong.

If you have anything Nissan wiring related use Wiring Specialties. They are a NICO advertiser and dealing with them has been awesome.

Not only have I used them with no problem more than once, I have had them comp me shipping and even exchange parts for basically no extra charge when I had accidentally ordered the wrong part (of lesser value than the part I needed). So hearing this is a very unwelcome surprise, I really hope this was a one off instance and not how they have come to do business since the last time I purchased from them. Sorry for your bad experience man.

They definitely didn't offer to pay the return shipping or give me more than the value of my part in credit. I got a call from a manager (I guess a yelp review really makes them want to resolve the issue). They are now offering me $35 in credit to take my Yelp review down. He was very nice, but $35 is still not the $52 I was promised and credit isn't cash. Still not happy with them as I feel I've been given the run around and told that I damaged the part when I didn't. It shouldn't take a bad Yelp review to get a resolution.

What part did you buy?

You say that the price indicated a Nissan part. Seems to me you made assumptions and were already mad that the product didn't meet your assumptions.

As soon as there was an issue you assume intentional wrong-doing. They seem to have tried to fix it, but as you yourself stated, you EXPECTED them to try and rip you off. It's one thing to be prepared for it, but your attitude makes me assume you were not very cooperative with them as they tried to fix it.

If you can do better wiring yourself why did you buy the harness?

Even without hearing their side of the story I have to question what went on here.

What kind of car? What was the NISSAN part number you ordered? What was the harness supposed to be?

Original wheelman your assumptions about my assumptions are wrong. You know what they say when you assume.

I didn't expect them to do me wrong. I had absolutely no pre conceived notions of what to expect from them. In fact I had absolutely no beef with them until I was told that the label was missing and continued to be very cordial up until they falsely accused me of damaging the part.

Taking a picture of the package with the label didn't mean I expected them to pull shenanigans it just means I was prepared for it. You're mincing preparedness with expecting. You don't expect to get a flat, but you have a spare, right?

As I stated before your post it does appear that Nissan does produce the knock sensor harness as it was shipped. I didn't realize that Nissan produced them that way. Go take a look at the wiring specialties knock sensor harness. It's 1/3 of the cost and looks more professional.

I actually needed a CPS sub harness, which is why I was returning the knock sensor harness (part numbers are nearly the same and some websites list them without the differentiating digits, which is where the confusion came in). Obviously that is not their fault and not where my beef lies. Although I was not happy with the overall quality and made mention of that the real issue (which should be clear to those who actually read my entire post) is that they said to send it back for a refund and then didn't give me a refund citing a bunch of bull for the reasons. If they weren't going to give me a refund then they should have said that and I wouldn't have wasted my money on shipping it back to them.

When I wire something on my car I use no insulation butt connectors and heat shrink. Way cleaner and more professional than electrical tape. If I would have realized that wiring specialties had everything I needed to make my own CPS harness before I ordered from Courtesy that's what I would have done and did end up doing.

I was heated when I wrote the post, but that was right after I got the email from Mr. Buzbee accusing me of damaging the harness. I'll revise it to be less harsh and more accurate concerning the quality of the harness as now I realize that genuine Nissan harnesses can look pretty jank.

Yeah...I didn't get that at all. The dude was prepared...nothing wrong with that. Courtesy changed stories 2 times in order to not issue a refund AND they want to pay to have the Yelp review removed.

That tells me a lot right there.

This isn't the first business to up and take a crap with customer service and it won't be the last.
