Hey all, ya Jeff kinda pushed me to do this  but I guess I will now. Little intro is I picked up my S14 back in 2000/2001 and pretty much fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Matter of fact I was still shopping around for a car and the day I saw it I went back and decided it was for me. Well anyway, it's a '96, picked it up with 63k miles on it with no mods for alittle under $8k. Its at about 75k right now since I travel back and forth to college with it (500 mile trip back and forth)...I bought it with full intentions of learning a lot about cars and fixing it up but things just didn't seem to go that way...so foolish me decided to go with appearance instead of performance and I spent money on things that really didn't boost performance what so ever, in fact I figured at one point I'd just make it a show car. Well anyway, I'm pretty much gunna try and dedicate my time to learn a lot about cars, engine wise and all that (I know the basics) but as for all the engine series and stuff like that, its beyond me so I got a lot of reading ahead of me. But I've decided to divert all my attention to performance now and worry about appearance later...it's tasteful (as Jeff would put it) right now, but I have plans for the future. It's stock KA24DE, and yes it's an automatic but I plan on doing a transmission swap (at whatever cost) lol ... anyway that's a pretty exaggerated intro I'm sure none of you give a crap...but nice to join you guys and I hope to learn a lot here. ;)

ps. I'm a newb when it comes to mechanics so I'll probably be seen asking a lot of questions if I feel like I'm not too big of a pest

Right now?KA24DEAutomaticShogun kitLots of lighting/show accessories (strobes and such)Velox gunmetal wheelsPioneer 4 speaker, extra tweeters, 2 12" IMPP subs

SloS13: I plan on changing the kit so no worries there :D

As for mods, this is my list so far. Most I've talked over with Jeff but feel free to name good systems or ones you'd suggest and also some mod suggestions, I'll take all the advice I can get.

1. Custom Short Intake (like http://www.240sx.org/links/ins...x.htm)2. transmission Swap3. Exhaust, Apex N1 Duel4. SOHC Pistons & Rods5. 1991 or 1992 Cams6. header, HOTSHOT7. If turbo, cancel #4

If you go turbo you can cancel 1,4,an 6. Make up your mind befor itll become to costly goin all motor then change to turbo. I say go turbo cause ull never be as fast as you want all motor. (dont need rods out of the sohc) also (91-93 cams are the same just use 2 exhaust cams for best results). An you forgot to add number 8. Have Fun!

Okay, well I was confused because I thought I should lower my compression ratio if I get turbo, that would be why I change pistons and rods ... not to SOHC cause that's higher, but isn't stock KA24DE 9.5:1? or something like that...I was thinking to lower it a bit but I guess not. And if I may ask why should I not do the short intake and header?

me personally, I'd probably call you a ricer if I saw you on the street due to mirror tent and the wing, the rest doesn't look bad at all though.

Being straight forward with you mang, welcome aboard anyway, you show interest and desire for performance, so make with it!:D

if your planning on high hp, like 300++ when turboed, then yea you should get some lower compression pistons and maybe stronger rods. but you can run under 300hp w/ stock internals easy.

boost it stock. with higher compression you can make more power with less boost. If you really feel like cracking the motor open then have at it, but you can just boost the motor stock. Im not only the president, but also a client.

Yep, most people here hate big wings. Unless of course your a real racer and it actually helps the car.
