*Sorry for long post, but I'm sure there's other people in here that appreciate clean and trouble-free wiring jobs

I need to run an HKS Super AFR controller, and installation requires intercepting/tapping into the fragile wires that go straight to the ECU (SR20DET "62" in my case). And I know many of you guys have already installed an Apex Super AFC, most likely by tampering with your existing ECU harness.

My question is this:

Do they make an "extension" harness for the ECU? What I'm looking for is merely a FEMALE PLUG-to-stretch of wires-to-MALE PLUG made specifically for the SR20DET "62" ecu. What I mean by "plugs" are those blue rectangles that mate with each other from your existing harness to your ecu.

Why? I like clean plug'n'play and reversible installs. And knowing how splice taps (those damned little bastards) have failed on me in the past, I wanna do things the RIGHT and SAFETY-CONSCIOUS way----by soldering. I want to do all my wiring on the extension harness on a comfortable work bench----not lying upside down in the passenger foot well. And, if I ever need to change my mind of an AFR device, all I need to do is unplug the extension harness, and bam, the Stock ECU setup is back!

Example of a typically tampered ECU harness:

Visual aid of what I'm looking for (minus the black-sleeved wiring):

Hmm, I think many Nissan connectors are the same. So my guess is, check the plug off the KA ecu and see if the SR harness can plug into it, if so, go ahead and unsolder it's legs out of the ecu and use it as a female end. Then get the old KA plug off the KA harness and use that as the male. An hr or so of wire extending etc with a soldering iron and checking on pins should complete the job. Finding the actual extension for sale is slim and will probably cost a lot. Nissan connectors in general cost a lot from what I heard from the AEM techs. They should know because they had to source connectors in order to make the EMS for Nissans. If the KA connector doesn't work and you cant find the aftermarket extension, I suggest buying an old beat up SR ecu that came with someone's cut harness, and buy their ECU end off the cut harness while at it to use the idea I just mentioned above. Any S13 ECU will work.

I think what genX is saying is you might be able to make one, but i doubt you can buy one.

Thanks. Yeah, I was actually thinking about the desoldering/soldering job with a scrap ecu/harness but nahhhhh.....That would defeat the purpose of what I was trying to accomplish in the first place: no headaches + ease of install + saftey

But I did quite a bit of google searching last night, and I'd like to share what I was able to find (for those of you who had the same question):

Greddy E-Manage HarnessN-9#15920909

E-Manage is a piggyback unit, so the blue plugs are the same as SR. To accomplish what I was going to do, I can conveniently tap into the wires that are already tapped via the black-sleeved harnessing (which normally goes to the E-Manage). And to intercept a wire, I would just simply find my wire along the length of wire. Finally, if I ever decide to go with a more sophisticated unit, I can just go with E-manage!
