Hitman,

in Jesda's thread on cupholders you mentioned your buddy making "feet" for your FSTB. I also would be willing to buy these "feet". Let me know if your mechanic is interested and if so, the price and all the details. Thanks a lot.

Nick

Hey, get in line! I asked first ... just kidding! :D

I am talking to another machinist I know who might be willing to make some too. Works at a local aircraft shop at the airport near my house. I will let you all know if he is interested ...

i assume you're talking about feet for the $15-$20 ebay maxima strut bars? does the bar fit good? maybe i can trade the bar piece of mine (stillen) to one of the local maxima guys for their bar (courtesy or ebay).

[hijack]all i know is the stillen FSTB fits like crap. it looks real nice, definately better than the cheap ebay bars, but it barely fits. the bar is not long enough, and there's not enough threads on the adjustment side. takes two people too install, one to pull the bar and one to slide the bolt in. at least it doesn't rub anything. i think i'm going to call stillen and see if they can get me a longer bar.[/hijack]

The 2000+ Maxima /I35 bar fits the Q well.

The feet have to be redrilled (holes are in wrong place) and the tabs need to be shortened and redrilled. Really pretty easy, I did mine in an hour in my garage.

To get the bar UP enough to clear the plenum, it's a balancing act... The tabs have to be cut "back" enough to accomodate the bar width (the strut towers on a Q are actually NARROWER than on a Max!) while avoiding "lowering" the bar too much.
