Have you ever noticed how often posting in other sections will result in being insulted by what appear to be young punks with nothing better to do than be disruptive?

Yessir. I am in the 240sx/silvia forum 90% of the time and its flamage up the azzhole... It is just ignorrance on the most part b/c people dont like to search and such, but still it gets out of control.

I just started posting on Ka-T.org to gain do some research and even though I may ask Nooby questions, I feel comfortable posting there seeing I will get straight up answers and I do not expect to be flamed as NICO (Useing Loosely). I mean we can not know everything, a question that you may know that seems so simple, might not be known by that person. Think about it.... you once did not know the answer either...

Atleast in this seciton, the post I have made have had legit answers as well, I was speaking moreso for that 240sx/silvia section.

(On top of that when I am in forums such as zylvia & FreshAlloy, that say things like "Take that shyt to NICO" or " Dood this isn't NICO, don't post that kinda shyt here") Not a pleasant thing to read.

I like to use sarcasm and then provide a link, or usually just answer it.Depends on how tired I am.

If you're refering to the subframe thread, you were hardly flamed.

You guys have to remember this is a public forum that is used by individuals spread out over the entire world. I started Moderating when I lived in Japan still. With that comes a huge melting pot of personalities. But it also allows for diversity and the ability to grow exponentially.

I am a member of about 12 online forums, Nico is by far one of the better when it comes to the treatment of its members.

If you can't stand a mild amount of criticism, then you will definitly have issues with anything that deals with the offering of public opinion. Some people are trolls...but why even let that get to you. If you have a thread with 30 posts and 4 are from members telling you they hate you and that you should off yourself, that still leaves 26 good posts that probably contain enough information for you to complete whatever project you were even discussing.

Life is to short to be bothered by a small group of people who thrive on public drama.

Take what you can from everything and everyone you encounter on a day to day basis. If you don't like it, toss it in the recycle bin Tomarrow you could be in a hospital paralized from the neck down. You'll be wishing you did things differently I guarantee it. Life is short, be happy while you have time to

PS, Of course KAT is the best forum...DUH

usually, the big general subforums have drama and flaming involved.

most of the more concentrated and specific subforums dont have these kinds of behavior afaik.

anyways i agree ^

I think this section inparticular draws a more serious and more mature crowd, where as more general forums include a fair amount of young kids and punkitude.

What really burns me up is that in chat forums people speak and act toward others in a way that they would never even consider if it was a face to face encounter. Especially, when it is totally unprovoked.

I would pay money to see a prank where little 140lb 17 year old is on a computer talking big smack and then have someone who looks like Goldberg pound on his door.

Here is a funny little video of what I'm talking about.

I make it a rule to not say anything to anyone I wouldn't say directly to them in person. Although, that doesn't filter to much out...LOL. I however, don't have the incessant urge to belittle people and actually appreciate people taking a different road or method to achieving a certain goal. If everyone did the same thing life would suck, unless it was the same as me, then it would of course be perfect

That's especially funny to me becuae although I am only 5'9" I am 245lbs from having lifting weights all my life. Plus I wrestled in high school and practised judo and worked as a bouncer while in college.

Suffice it to say I don't get many teenage boys calling me names to my face.

But regardless of that, I am a respectfull person and I expect the same from others.

I find the best way to get flamed is to suggest something that goes against conventional beliefe. For instance, tell someone that an aluminum "cold air intake" probably brings more heat into the charge than it removes and watch them have a melt down.

It's too bad because if not for the rebels we would still think the Earth was flat.
