A Philadelphia homeowner is sitting in jail this morning after going "Clint Eastwood" on a neighbor who allegedly allowed one of his two dogs (a German shephard and chihuahua), to poop on his front lawn without cleaning it up. It appears the homeowner asked the dog owner nicely to clean the poop. But when the dog owner made a sarcastic rebuttal, the homeowner drew a 9mm handgun and emptied his entire clip into the unarmed dog owner's neck and torso, killing him. (in front of some horrified neighbors). Victim was married guy with an infant. The gunman had a legal permit for the 9mm, but is being arraigned this morning on 1st degree murder charges. Ah, the city of Brotherly Love, except if you don't scoop 'da poop, then all bets are off.

I wonder what kept this guy so busy that he couldn't be bothered to pick up his dogs doo-doo. Sure, the extent the homeowner took it to was just a bit to far, but if you own a dog and it does its business on someone elses lawn, than DUDE- PICK IT UP WITHOUT FUSS.

Stupid, no need to ruin your life over it. Blind rage should of just shot the dog.

A few more details. The shooter recently lost his job as a security officer for the Philadelphia School District and it was confirmed he had a carry permit. But neighbors said this was not the first time he pulled a weapon on someone, which is kinda disturbing. He also did this in broad daylight in front of several neighbors. Evidently the two had words before about his failing to scoop the poop. And the shooter decided to execute him after not getting the answer he wanted.

Hopefully his lawyer doesn't try for an insanity defense.

That sounds more like it. First post sounded like a 2 degree charge not first.

Just because he shot the guy doesn't mean he is insane. That defense is such a cop out. The dude is an ***hole who shot a man dead over something stupid. He should go to prison for the rest of his life or get the chair.

Completely agreed. The shooter needs to be laid to rest.

I was thinking about something more fitting...cleaning out kennels at the local animal shelters - ALL OF THEM.

And maybe he'll get reincarnated as a dung beetle in the hereafter.

f*** that. One less ***hole in the world. If some ***hole let his GERMAN SHEPARD poop all over my lawn everyday, I'd be pissed too. Yes, the guy's reaction was too extreme, but that guy who got shot sounds like a grade A douche. Furthermore, why would you antagonize a guy who has pulled guns on people before? ***hole that got shot was an ***hole, ***hole who shot him was an ***hole. f*** em both.

How hard would it be to figure out which one of the dogs took the dump? One's a German Shepherd and the other's a Chihuahua.

That's some nice detective work there, Lou.

Lou? Which dog pooped is irrelevent. But just so you realize, this happened in the city, not the suburbs, Front lawns in the city of Philadelphia if they exist at all are typically about the size of a bathmat, so even if a Chihuahua took a dump, it'd be noticeable.

Sorry, I wasn't directing the remark at you -- I assumed you were quoting the article. And it's a Simpson's reference. :)

Don't taze me, bro.

The guy who didn't scoop the poop was a doucheweasel. But he didn't deserve to DIE for it.

The homeowner took that waaaaay too far. However, there are people like the dog owner in my neighborhood. They let their dogs poop all over other people's lawn under the guise of "walking the dog". Their whole mentality is that as long as it's not their lawn, it's not their problem. If you don't like cleaning up or picking up dog poop, pay someone else to do it, or don't get a dog at all.

I lol'd when I read 'emptied an entire clip into him', but seriously thats a little far.

I would have been aiming for the ratdog thing. Thats one less stupid tiny yapping dog that lives in this world. Or maybe he shot him because he asked himself what kind of man actually owns a Chihuahua.

I bet every dog owner in Philly cleaned up their dog's poop today. I am a firm believer that it takes making an example of someone in a brutal way to change the world for the better.

Mechanical poop scoopers are easy to use. They're a few feet long so you don't have to get close and smell the poop, and because they have jagged poop-biting spring-loaded teeth you can use them for self-defense.

A neighborly dispute over dog poop turned deadly in the Tacony section of Philadelphia.

It happened just after 4 p.m. Tuesday on the 6500 block of Torresdale Avenue. Tyrirk Harris, 27, is accused of killing his 47-year-old neighbor Franklin Manuel Santana, according to Philadelphia Police.

Family Reacts to Death of Dog Dispute Victim

Cops say Santana walked a couple doors down Torresdale to confront Harris over his dogs.

"A German Shepherd and a Chihuahua -- these dogs were running free," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. "There were dog feces on several of the neighbor's yards. That's what led to this particular confrontation."

Police say Harris then pulled out a 9-mm handgun and shot his neighbor several times, striking Santana in his face and chest.

"He didn't run," said one witness. "He stood there, shocked that he did what he did."

Harris at one time was licensed to carry a gun but had it revoked last month, according to police.

The shooting was apparently the boiling point of an ongoing dispute.

"We believe this is not an isolated incident," said Inspector Small. "There have been arguments over these dogs in the past."

Neighbors say the victim left behind a wife and a 6-week-old daughter.
Seems like a pattern of behavior lead to this, not just one incident. Also, it appears the shooter was the dog owner.

Just another example of how you don't know who you are dealing with or what they are capable of. Think about that before you confront people.

The only drawback to the mechanical scoopers is carrying them with you if you have more than one dog, especially beagles who tend to follow their noses independantly. ;) I use "dispose-a-scoops". Pretty clever. while you do have bend over to scoop it, they're easy to carry. Inexpensive, Disposeable with a cardboard handle, and a thin plastic scoop formed around a thin wire collapsable frame. Once you scoop 'da poop, you push the little frame into the cardboard handle (against a tree or ground, or neighbors butt. and toss it out with the garbage when you get home. You're hands stay clean. I;ve been using them for years.

Emptied a CLIP from his 9mm.

I'm confused, did he have a Garand or a 9mm pistol?

If you re-read the first post, it'll say "9mm handgun." And to anticipate your next three irrelevant followups, 1. "handgun" implies a pistol, not a rifle, 2. the expression "emptied a clip" can also refer to rapidly firing all rounds from a single multi-shot generic firearm. And 3. no, the article did not mention the make of the gun.

If this does not clarify it for you, might I suggest you deposit some dog poop on that shooters lawn and be yourself. ;)
