Ok so i've been quite impressed with my ca18det so far. It has been problem free and responded well to all my upgrades....up until monday. I noticed it had developed a small leak at the water pump gasket. While trying to remove the gasket i made the mistake of using the cam gears as a brace to remove the crank bolt. Needless to say i snapped the timing belt which had been weakened by the fluids leaking on it. Two days later i get another timing belt and put a make a new gasket for the water pump, get it all back together and the timing right...and go for a drive. Ohhh so much better.....for the first 20 mins. Then i notice my temps are sky high and it bogged when i went for boost. Pulled over and the water pump was profusely leaking. Apparently the High Temp Silicone gasket maker hadn't held well enough and i dumped all my coolant. I also found i hadn't set the tensioner on timing belt tight enough and the timing had jumped. lucky i made it back home it time to fix my mistakes and hopefully tomorrow i will be venturing from jville back to ga to Enjoy my Valentine and make Whoopie....long live the Ca...hopefully i haven't messed anything up.
