I don't mean to derail your thread but I've got a few questions for you. I'm planning a trip to Mammoth in February with a group of 25+ people. I used to snowboard twice a week but that was 8 years ago. Back then my gear kicked a**. I've got a K2 163w, Burton custom bindings and Airwalk boots. Should I invest in some new gear or just get my board sharpened and waxed? I used to board at Big Bear and Mountain High which was always hard packed and sometimes slushy, this will be my first trip into powder. I've done Mammoth one other time and it was like concrete. I've heard that for powder you have to set your bindings back and keep your front lip up in order to stay on top. Is this true?

Thanks!

Edit: Nice pics bro, are you taking any underwater camera gear with you? I dive A LOT and have show U/W Video professionally. Awesome hobby.

Everything has changed in the last 3 years so I would call around to see what shops offer demo gear and see if you can do that. I would stay away from mountain rentals. As far as the photography goes I wish i had a housing for my camera but I haven't been able to get one yet. I will have one eventually. I love Macro photography and there is plenty of that diving.

Sweet pix, what's your camera setup?

Well I ended up getting a bunch of new gear and ended up with 2 sets of bindings. I bought a direction all-mountain board, the K2 Raygun with the all-terrain rocker, some K2 Maysis boots and a set of Rome Targas and Ride SPI bindings. Basically I ordered the Targas and they ended up being slightly used so the reseller offered them for 75% off plus another 15% off a new pair and I chose the SPI's. I don't board enough to warrant 2 setups so I'm gonna sell one set of them, just not sure which one. Any advice?
