Domestics hating!

I'm getting tired of these dudes in Mustangs and Camaros getting all pissed off. Has anyone else experienced that? The other day I lined up with this early 90s mustang at a light, I revved up and they laughed, then when the light turns green I roll it off the line and floor it, they did a clutch-drop launch, they got me off the line because of my lack of launch, but by the middle of 2nd I walked away. At the next the passenger started saying: "Want me to get my real car, my 1200hp Mustang!" getting all pissed off and stuff. I'm like dude, you got smoked, get over it, it's a part of life.

Then last night this newer GT rolls up on me then revs up, we go from a roll at about 40mph and I start walking away. He lets off immediately once he notices I’m winning. We only went from like 40-60mph. Then he tries again and I walk away again. Then a light comes up and we line up, I rev it and he just sits there looking straight, he wouldn’t even look at me. Then when the light turned green he just took off normally. Like if he couldn’t win he wouldn’t admit his defeat, he has to just ignore me! What is that about?!

I'm just tired of all the domestic dudes thinking their cars are the fastest in the world and when you beat them they either get all pissed off or make excuses, they rarely say dude your car is fast, you smoked me. It's always hating, getting pissed or just talking crap. It's sad.

Anyone else experience similar stuff? Or is it just the guys here in So. Cal?

i say don't take it so personally. "Hating" is a part of joining a group. But it isn't just imports and domestics hating on each other, i read people talking crap about hondas here once in a while. And i am absolutley sure that Camaro guys talk crap about Fords and vise versa, then the vette guys come in and smoke them all. Don't let it bother you. I appreciate all cars, old new, import or domestic. People like the ones you described are just ignorant and probably have small Dix.

thats true what annunziato said. But still, it's because we're imports. THey've got beef cause they think we're economy cars. Less hp = economy. Oh well. keep smokin them smokey!

i really get tired of the "hating" that happens all the time. I like all cars just as annunziato39 said. i'm don't like people saying, "well fords/chevys/hondas/domestics/imports suck because of _________" it's beyond me why people do that. but hey, when you get drivers like the 2 ppl driving those stangs...remember to dis the driver rather than the car.

It's like, I beat them, but they're not happy about it. So they just talk crap. I don't really like mustangs but when I get walked by one I give the guy props. A lot of them give props, but a good portion also just says how they have another car that's faster, or when they get heads they'll smoke me, etc. I beat this one dudes Camaro SS and he told me his Chevelle at home will smoke me without even getting out of first gear. I'm like, shut up dude. You got smoked, I don't care what you have at home. It's what you're in now that matters. Grr.. I understand the Ford vs. Chevy thing and all that, but the Import vs. domestic thing seems worse. The domestic people want the domestics to be faster so bad that they get pissed if they're not.

to me anyone that hates any type of car is retarded. If you can't enjoy a good classic like a 69' mustang or camero. Or if you can't like a 1969 KE10 corolla or hell even any car in one of the fields your retarded.

You know in japan im sure when a guy races a corvette or whatever. Most of them are going "nice car" but if they beat them or get beat they don't go in a rage because its an american car or japanese. Its just senseless, i feel in america.

Getting more into cars it just made me understand american,japanese, and europeon are all great. All have potential for anything and everything. Hell look at the civic that does rally. Look at the GTO that did D1. Good examples

Every domestic guy I've ever met claims that he or a friend of his has a 700+ hp mustang. Of course they never put up.

Ya, i've noticed that. This guy went as far as saying 1200hp. If I wasnt going somewhere I would have told him to go get it and followed him to his house. You could tell he has no 1200hp Mustang. If he did and wanted to smoke me in it he should have just said he wants to race me in his other car and went and got it. But he tried to scare me with this '1200hp' monster. But I guess that makes me proud that he has to go get his 1200hp car to beat my 240hp car

most of the car owners just hate on other cars. thats all. like i see lots of you guys hate on honda's. and its weird cause the honda guys are more open now a days and dont mind the other cars. and the toyota guys are mostly ae86 guys and sw20 mr2's. makes me miss my hachi.

Not liking a car is cool. But if I race a honda and lose I dont' treat the driver like crap or try to pretend I have a 10000000hp 240 at home.

Japanese guys are really sore losers too. The idea of getting beat by an American in a stock-looking car really pisses them off. American goofs are fun they just keep asking to be pounded over and over like hooded gimps. Most guys don't like to lose, it's the nature of insecure men. They have powerful cars to boost up their self esteem so when you beat them you have really destroyed them mentally. Just roll with it there's nothing to counter it, well I don't reccomend this but. I had one guy pull some stupid stuff with my wife, speeding by unannounced and flashing four-ways and then not going off the light etc. I hunted him down and he did the same thing to me. I started yelling at him at the light. "look ***** you are going to run me straight-up right ****in now" I pointed at the light and said "when that thing drops you better bring it chump". The light went green and he sat there, I hung out the window and said "yeah, you like that now *****, I own you now and by tommorow morning everone will know it to" and I drove off. Be ready to throw blows if you do that though guys don't like being called *****es. The really funny part was, his car was faster I could tell he would have won;)

I say some of these Ford Mustang Boys need to go out and race a Beretta GTZ...so they see how it feels to beat by a domestic with a 4 cylinder :ylsuper

I hate people so infatuated with their mustangs or camaros to see that even Ford, GM, and Chrysler make cars that are just as fast but have 2 or 4 cylinders less

Heck they don't even understand the differences between a typical american V6/V8 and a Japanese 4 Cylinder...it's Pushrod vs. DOHC...you can't really compare those...it's simple more air flow gives you more power that's what DOHC engines are good at

I know so much about both imports and domestic...i don't hate either one...because both have their strong areas

I currently own a Pontiac Grand Prix..runs low 17's...not exactly fast..but i killed a few v6 mustangs and a v6 camaro that thought he was "cool" since he had a camaro

It's just that "I have a Mustang/Camaro so i own the road" mentallity

As soon as i get my Turbocharged Grand Prix...i'll show those Mustang GT boys what a V6 can do

I remember in one of the car and drivers or somthing, they tested a bunch of cars in the magizine. Anyway, the V8 Mustang (GT) 5sp Manual, and the V6 Altima 5sp had almost the exact same 1/4 mile, I think the Altima was even a tenth faster. I thought that was pretty funny.

The only thing I don't like is when somone rolls up on slicks/skinnies and barely beat me, yet talks crap. Like if they were on streets they would have gotten rocked. But whatever... A few weeks ago I raced a Camaro SS on ET Slicks. He of course made me look like I was standing still of the line, I pulled, but I couldnt close the gap by the 1/4 mile. When it was over he started talking crap about how he smoked me. It really bothered me. I guess what I like is a fair race. I roll around on nitto drags now so I guess i'm being the unfair one

I saw a guy this evening with a new Silverado with lots of "tack-on" crap, you know, PepBoys mods. Chrome gas cap cover, chrome flame grille, billet antenna, rollin' on chrome dubs.

There's a sticker on the back window that says "Imports are like tampons, every p**** has one."

So I roll by and check out his truck. He revs on me and I laugh. Out loud. I ain't racing a friggin pickup truck.

Turns out we both turn into the same parking area.

Homeboy parks near me. You know what comes next.

JC Whitney Catalog-On-Wheels driver: "What the hell you laughin' at?"

Me: "Nice taillights - Look like they came off an IMPORT."

This whakker had ALTEZZAS on his Chebby. What an asstard.

lol, haha, its funny, i never give **** when i lose, i always give props, and ill tell someone ill smoke their car if i KNOW i can.... if i dont id still be up to race, i could care less if i lose, its just if i lose because i missed a gear or something and their like oh i smoked ur *** and i want a rematch and they dont give me one..... thats what pisses me off. Winning or losing i love to race. Cant ya tell... 2001 ford windstar vrs a 2003 sunfire.... Turns out i beat him n e ways... i love it when people talk **** on the van im driving and i offer to race and their like no id embarass you too much and i finally get em to race and i beat em.... v6 windstars may have good but not great accel... but in the high gears w/ overdrive off they can go

I got a story. I used to own a Convertible Cavalier. Domestic I know, but i know alot abotu those cars. Best ETA was 13.8. Now I own a 12 sec 240, so I got nothing but love for both domestic and import, but i beat a Saleen at the trace in my cavalier once caus ya know, the usual everyint talkign **** about my car. Well he got his time slip and drove right on out of the track and went home. guy in a civic was talking crap abou my car in the apartment next to me, race him, KILLED him and his buddy with a turboed Prelude said he was faster, raced him, beat him as well. I don't talk **** to people, i just prove what I got. Kepp beating them and you wont even have to talk to them. =)

I love when you race a domestic from a roll and you pull away, so they try to catch you at a light thinking your car is front wheel drive, or at least slow off the line. I love when that happens. Launch at 5000rpm@10psi very little wheelspin by the nittos, 1.92fts. But even when I was on Kumo 712s I could beat most people off the line.

One thing I have noticed is that those old muscle cars, with that loud no cat exhaust, and cammed sound. Typically are pretty damn slow, not SLOW, but not as fast as you'd expect. They're more rice than a lot of civics I see. I raced a dude in a old Camaro, it was all raked with huge tires on the back, sounded all cammed, had stickers allover it, then I walk away from him at stock boost. after he said wow your car is really fast. But I really expect to get smoked.

I beat a Corvette 6sp with a 13.5. That's at 2700ft. a corvette can't run 13.5@2700ft.

Saleen S281 Coupe runs 14.0 cost 36kSupercharged S281 runs 13.0 cost 42kSaleen SR runs 11.8 costs 158k

Probably a S281 that you raced. Saleens aren't as fast as everything thinks they are. Unless you're talking about the S7 or SR but who has an S7. Who has 158k+

I love how saleen does not lie about their performance like ford does. Supposidly a stock mustang GT can run a 13.9. Yet the Saleen with better tires suspension and MORE POWER runs 2 tenths slower.. haha Saleen S281 has 290hp, the Normal mustang GT has 260

My friend has an S281 Saleen and with a blown turbo at 9psi I'd be walking passed him at the top of 2nd. I upgraded the turbo and now I walk him like he never left the line. Needless to say he never revs on me anymore because I've walked him too many times when he had girls in his car that he was trying to impress. Nothing like having your 36k V8 Saleen walked by a primer grey 240 on stock wheels with a motor less than half the size of his.

I just know that an 04 cobra destroyed me.. I just figured that a Saleen would be similar. (low 12's)

I think you guys are kinda missing the big picture. Yes there are plenty of domestic guys who make up stuff about other cars they have at home, but the import community has more than their share of the same. You can't band all domestic guys as mullet rednecks, just like you can't brand all import guys as ricers. When i was in high school driving my 68 mustang, i would kill lots of imports only to hear, "wait till i get my turbo kit" or "my buddy has a turbo (insert any imort car) that will smoke you." I think everyone just needs to realize that there WILL be someone faster than you.

Actually, you are generally right, The Saleen however was a Convertible, Heavier, and it was an Auto, and a 96 or so, the Saleen only started to have power afer 98. Pre then it was slow, low 14's, Infact he ran a 14.2 and I ran a 14 flat, and I still ahve the timeslip too =)

No doubt import guys do the same thing. When My 240 was running low 16s this guy with this '13 second' CRX couldnt even pull on me from a 3rd gear roll. No doubt there are cars faster than basically anyones. Since i've had my SR, I lost to a Civic, 91 Mustang Supercharged, 04 Mustang Cobra, Firebird TransAM, and a few bikes (i don't really count bikes).
