Ok..so i get into my new classes today(last semester of high school for me..which means I have a bunch of slack classes)...i wakl into my weight training class and brandon pack is in there. I know he drove a ford focus with a giant apc sticker on the back...but i never though anyhting more of it than he's just dumb and well..just dumb...I made the mistake of sitting next to him and jose....they start talking about thier cars....supposedly, brandon has spent four thousand on his 4 bangin' focus with a custom exhuast, fog lights, neon, and a system(ok..almost believable..i was just thinking 3 thousand dollar system)...then jose started talking about his 4 door accord(both their cars are automatic..btw)...he said he dropped 7 grand into his accord on wheels, a system, and custom seats...again..i figured..3 thousand dollar system...3 thousand in wheels and tires...and 1 thousand in seatS(...i was giving the guys a break..didn't want to start an argument on the first day)....so after school i go out to the parking lot. Brandon's focus has a total of one jensen wal mart bought sub and the matching amp(about 80 dollars total at the local wally world)...and a muffler welded onto his stock exhaust....oh..but he chopped his springs..and had forgot to tell me about..i just laughed to myself....the best part had to be the accord...when he said wheels..i figured he meant like nice 18 or 17 inch wheels....real nice brand name....we were walking to his car and i asked how big...he said 13 inch...i held the laughter in thinking..maybe he just doesn't know what size his wheels really are.....then we get to his car..and it def. had the 13 inch chrome spoked rimps with the widest tire and offset you could get on that accord....he started to tell me all about how he gets more contact with the road and when he lowers it his car will be perfect and...well...my girlfriend started to laugh at him and we walked away :)focus..what was that kid thinking.....oh i left out..he has the vinyl decal on the side from the F & T F so it must be pretty fast....I think i'm gonna go throw up my stomach now and wash my eyes for looking at his car...it's sad..my 2100 dollar s13 fastback looks better than both of their cars put together..they payed money to look stupid....ahhhh...ok i'm done :)

I use to have a link of a shop that will swap the 2.0 engine in the Focus to a 302 V-8. That power to weight ratio would be nice. The guy at the shop claims he has scared a few WRX drivers while driving his 5.0 Focus. Obviously they were not mod'ed WRX's.

just reminds me too much of the picture of that crx with the v8 in it...if you're gonna make a fast car...atleast make it fast and stable..short wheel base and big engine don't mix(swap the v8 into a 240..hehe)

A 302 in a Focus isnt that bad. I am not a fan of a FWD V-8's.

The V8 focus was RWD i thought, i saw a test of it on speedvison. pretty scary stuff, nothing a good built up 240 couldnt handle though.

curb appeal is for guys who stay parked. Leave them alone, stupid people are incapable of comprehening their stupidity and it will just give you a headache trying to explain it.

The mustang ways 3230 with the focus waying in from 2600 to 2800 depending on model. I dont think 800 pounds less wight would make a car more then 2 seconds faster. I thought the rule was 1 tenth for every 100 pounds on an esitmate, but its hard to say here. Just my 2 sense. But anyway the Focus would be really ugly.

I hate ford "Found On Road Dead, Fixed Or Repaired Daily" except for the disel trucks and cobra's.

Have all of you seen the new commercial for the focus. They empasize the "European tuned suspension". WTF??? European, I think its funny.

I hate focus's!

I remember seeing it on some muscle car show. it isnt that bad of an idea, kinda like sticking a V8 in a GTiR. and as for the STEEDA Focus, i didnt know that they made it supercharged. i know they make suspencion and body kit stuff for it.

I think it's Focii, or at least it sounds funnier that way.

They are referring to the FocusRS which is beeing sold in Europe only. It's modeled after Colin McCrae's rally car but not to the extent that the WRX is. I generally don't like Focii either, but the RS is pretty sweet looking and it's a rocket too. Turbocharged, Quaiffe LSD, suspension work, etc. For less than 20K it's going to be a very popular car.

hehehhe... i just have to share a brief amusing rice related thing i ran across the other day, and when you mentioned APC it reminded me...i got a bunch of blue interior bulbs to replace all the stock ones for a nice ambient glow, and i got em from APC cuz they're cheap and hey, they're just bulbs. anyway, one of the packs i received was entirely in japanese. they must have run out of english packages or something, seriously the only english on the entire package was "AMERICAN PRODUCTS COMPANY". oh yeah and it had "THE SIZE 10mm X 31mm" and "FUSE STYLE".curiously enough, the japanese pack was the only one that burned ALL of the glass color off within like 2 days. its a clear bulb now! wtf! lol.just thought i had to share that with you. ;D

Well i might be the only one of this board that likes the focus (at lest the SVT). stock vs stock it will bet a 240 in a drag, or autoX. It has a very good suspention setup, and is a very capable car. in about 2-3 years they will be joining the focus and the mazda protoge chases together, and we will most likely see a AWD turbo version with 230+ hp in the next year or 2. If i where to ever get a compact FWD car, the focus would be up there on my list. oh and jackson racing makes a SC for it, that gets if in the 200+ rang.

And you are talking about the svt focus vs a normal s13/s14. think of the price diff. the focus svt prob. "don't quote me on this, not entirely sure" cost prob. double or triple what one of ours are now a days.

Now if you are talking about the s15 I think I must disagree with you on the drag race or auto x. Just my 2 cents though.

As nice or as popular as they might be, I still think the focus was just ford's attempt to cash in on the sport compact market. I don't wanna say they failed, but I have yet to see a truly fast focus on the streets here, not saying they don't exist though. But damn, if I wanted a ford, I would've gotten a Cobra.

This APC window decal fad is getting out of hand, i'm seeing it on every stock-looking-car and truck around here. I saw one on a BMW X5 in a richey-neighborhood in PA, he thought he was hard too from the looks of it (owner needs to be dragged out and shot)
