dome light

I know it sounds like it should be easy making the dome light work.I have 95 240sx se with moon roof so far I have check for voltage at the door switch no power there I have noticed I have some wireing with connectors behind the radio that I don't know what they are for. A diagram would be very helpful any tips on where to trace back from the door switch?

did you check the fuses? is it only the dome light thats dead? check for power at the dome lamp both sides. the way your light works is power is fed through the bulb and back down to the door switch meaning unless the circuit gets a ground the light wont illuminate. Your bulb could simply be blown.

Thank you it was a fuse and a bad connection at the light.

nistech, where is the ground for the dome light?, im trying to fix a friends dome light, 95' se

it comes on sometimes, like when she takes the cover off it might come on, and then when she puts it back on and tries to flip the switch its dead, the fuse is good. and the bulb has to be good if it works sometimes doesnt it??

that sounds like a poor connection. try the wiggle test on the lamp assembly.

lol, ok, and if its a weak connection how do i fix it? when i looked at it i saw 2 connections on the driver side and one on the passenger side, i think, they didnt have screws though.

it actually sounds as if it is not plugged in all the way or the terminals are loose. can you make the lamp come on and off by wiggling it?
