I'd like to know if anyone else has this problem...Turn on your dome light and press up against the switch a little. It might take a little playing around with it, but does it break the contact and make the light go out? I showed this to the dealer when we had our 1K km check up. They agreed it was defective and covered under warranty so 1 week later they had us in again to replace it. We were in a hurry to get somewhere after we picked it up that that we didn't check it right away before we left, but the same thing happens. Am I being too picky? Is this the same for everyone? Overall we're happy with this car and we figure it's just one of those 1st year things...for N. America anyway. I can live with that.

Yeah, you're being too picky :o) This is normal. They havnt' really changed the design of the dome light in some 25 years.

That's the nature of the simple 3 positon switch in the dome light. It would be defective if it went out when hitting bumps in the road, or had too much free play in the switch positions.

My only beef is that the dealer agreed it was defective so they replaced it. It's just that now, nothing has changed. Just time wasted.

No, you didn't waste your time. You found out your dealer is willing to address your concerns and take the time to fix what YOU think is wrong.

I'm impressed with the dealer.

Mine does the same thing! I never thought about taking it to the dealer though, because I figured they would just look at me like, "You have got to be kidding. You brought it in for that?!"
