Dome Light Problem on my s14

well out of the blue my dome light doesnt turn on when the passenger side door opens, but when the drivers door opens it works. Ive already tried a door switch from my friends s14 that worked in his car and my door switch worked in his car. is there a diode or what that can cause this issue, cause im really stumped, has anyone came across an issue like this before, any help would be great.

The same thing is wrong with my car but the opposite way. The dome light comes on when the passenger side door is opened but not the driver side. I'm stumped as well

The switch is usually hooked up to a ground to complete the circuit when the switch is engaged.... so, make sure all the connections coming off of the switch are hooked up.

the door switch is good like i said i put my door switch in my friends s14 and it worked and i took his and mine still doesnt work so that puts the door switch off the list of possible causes of this issue. ive looked at the wiring diagrams and there is a diode the only thing is i dont know where it is on the car. the only other thing besides a diode and or short in the wirning is maybe the dome light went bad for passenger side of the dome light. and when the passenger door is open the door ajar light on the gauge cluster does not turn on for the passenger door only the drivers door. so do you guys maybe think the body control module might be defective cause im more annoyed about this issue.
