topic describes problem. any way to remove them. whats the cheapest fix?do i need a whole new motor? should i just get a new motor anyway at almost 190,000 miles anyway?

i assume you mean the exhaust manifold? i would not get a new engine due to an exhaust leak. if you are a skilled mechanic you could drill out the studs and tap new threads. it is very easy to mess something up when doing this.

im a bit wary of backing the bolts out. could u inform me of what i could damage along the way and how not to break anything? by the way , nice s13 mines a 90 hb with a ka24 de pretty stock still.

i would try sticking a pencil eraser up to the stud and trying to spin it out. if that does not work you need to drill a hole in the stud. then stick an extractor in the hole and turn it out. if it still won come out you need a heli coil set. that lets you drill th threads allout and install new ones. carefull, you dont want to hit a coolant jacket.

will the eraser grab it? i snapped them after the header flush down to the manifold

sometimes it works like that. id try it before i drilled a hole.
