After doing the oil change, disconnect the cas, crank the car til you have oil pressure, then hook the CAS back up and fire the car up.

The cam/crank(forgot which) angle sensor, its at the very front right of the valve coverif you can find it just disconnect the plug wires and crank it, basically you want to turn the engine over a few times before acctually starting it.

The oil filter is a sidemount unit. You cannot "prime" it with the filter off.

Any any mechanic who knows what he is doing will never start a turbo charged vehicle with a dry oil filter.

yes it is just an oil change, but its how your supposed to do an oil change on a turbo'd car.

btw we primed my friends oil filter and he has the greddy relocation kit so the filter sits upside down, just gotta be fast!

unplug the Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) and then crank it over for a good 10-15 secondsthen wait 20 seconds, then do it again.

to prime the filter you just put oil in the filter ontill its full and carefully put on the filter on and try not to spill.

Make sure to unplug the ground from your battery, unless you want to toast your alternator.

To get the oil filter off in the stock location, stab it with a screwdriver to release pressure and remove. Its the only way I could get mine off before I did the filter relocation.

Why would you want to do that? Are you referring to oil spillage into alternator and subsequent short-circuiting?

I had to find a oil filter wrench socket which went right around the filter. I found that's the easiest way to get at that thing.

Why aren't you using 10w-30? You're in CA, and you'll need more viscosity for the hotter weather. Factory spec is 10w-30 instead of 5w-30 I believe. I run Mobil 1 15w-50 when it starts getting hot.
