Ok heres the deal. I got a hella good offer from my local scrapyard i got a j30 diff for 65 bucks. and im swaping it to my s13, but when I look at the bushings they look different like if they go a certain order. What id like to know is what can I do with the bushing stuff? I kinda arranged them bushings so the same amount of the bolt sticks out but I dont know if this will affected later on. Oh yeah and I dont like the aluminum bushing stuff. thats all I found aluminum bushings but I want something more OEM.

,Thanks

Or even if any of this matters as long as the diff is bolted on tight???

plenty of people just bolt the J30 diff into the S13 with no issues. They use larger washers to give a bit of support to the bushing. I used the SPL alum. bushing kit bc my J30 diff was missing one of it's bushings when I got it from the junkyard. Also, the stock S13 open diff has no bushings, it's solid iron that bolts to the subframe, so using alum. bushings on the J30 to secure it will not make a difference in noise, ride, etc. There's also no risk of tearing the stock J30 bushings and dropping the diff (which can supposedly happen) if you use an alum kit with longer bolts (like SPL's).

not meaning to thread jack, but i found an 87 300zx in a scrap yard. does it have a lsd? if so how hard would it be to swap into a s13 chassis?

Well I was also looking for the 300zx but couldn't find any of 90 or newer, but the old ones I tried and looked but couldn't find the bolt pattern on the flanges actually it looked as if the axle is one piece direct from the hub to the diff, (Someone quote on this) But if you have a 240sx well there are definitely better options, you can get the later j30's LSD but its different gear ratio and you also need the axles complete bolt on or you can get the 94-95 j30 LSD and you only need the diff since its the same bolt pattern on the output flange than the 240 and last you'll want to do is swap the guts of the LSD and slap the b**** in the 240 diff with the 240 ring gear, look on this site lots of info. I just put in my j30 diff in my 240 and makes a big difference but just slightly slower really don't notice it and anyways its my daily driver one more thing if your planning to do the swap get someone to help you I tell you from my experience today IT WAS A b**** but I had my 10 Y/o nephew help me for 5 bucks jajaj. It was also my first mecanical mod in my life so there you go is not as hard and it depends on what you want or have. any ?'s pm me.
