A court appearance where you respectfully ask for:

No points, and Agree to pay the fine, in full.

You can look forward too...a >$250 fine and me laughing at you. The last time I got a large ticket like that (38 over), it was a $250 fine that I just went to the municipal court and paid, no appearance or anything as Texas doesn't have points :)

In many states that's criminal speeding and driving to endanger. You're lucky you didn't get arrested! If that happened here you'd automatically lose your license until a court appearance, be in jail until bail was set and collected... then face some huge fines.

Depending on your age... the judge will most likely try to teach you a lesson and throw the book at you. They aren't interested in hearing excuses... especially not ones involving ego, racing, and other such stupidity.

Suck it up and take your lumps I guess. Good luck man.

I heard word they might get a points system going here though :( That'd seriously ruin my day. I enjoy getting ridiculous amounts of tickets with very few consequenses!

You've never gotten a ticket in Carrolton then. 35 over in a 35. WOO, THAT was fun. Talk about a $500 consequense.

Yeah I have Tom :) it was only 18 over though, it was my first ticket ever...I DD'ed it (I live in Carrollton actually) Come to think of it, I've gotten 3 of them here, two were like 10 over coming out of a school zone...from the SAME cop, it sucked.

I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I drive too fast in a "legal" sense... and I will always get speeding tickets.

I could either spend 90% of my attention staring at the speedo and risk running over small children... or I can devote 99% of my attention to DRIVING safely and take the tickets as they come. When I feel I'm guilty... I pay the fine... when I'm not... I contest the charges and WIN!!

I don't know man...after my first 5 or 6 speeding tickets, I got a radar detector and sure as hell don't regret it.

It actually makes me go slower more often now....cuz it scares the piss out of me at just how often a cop is clocking you. (ofcourse, I still speed on occasion). Probably time to upgrade though, I'm runnin a 6 year old V1 :)

My radar detector is my foot.It has a tendency to stomp the floor when I see a cop's lights

;) Kidding.

But yeah I will probably be investing in one here pretty soon. Any decently priced ones that pick laser guns, too?

Don't even worry about laser protection...it's pointless. If you are getting hit by laser, and you're speeding, you're getting pulled over. There's no detecting that before it hits.

Also, I wouldn't shop for a well priced one. Shop for a good one, regardless of price. You'll regret it otherwise.

Read this site thoroughly (http://www.radartest.com/) before you buy one.

Torry,I was coming out of Boston south on I-95 when my laser detector went off. I decelerated and passed a Mass Trooper. I could swear from the time between the beeps on my detector when I was "painted."

Download and print the free book called NO POINTS.

Study it, live it, learn it.

I regularly do 100+ on the freeway and 10+ over on the surface streets - It's all about stealth and awareness.

You, my friend, were NOT paying attention. Be careful out there.

Excessive speedReckless drivingStreet Racing

In cali anything over 20 is reckless

You will pay the court fee + the flat fee [if there is one] and then 1 dollar [or more] for every 1 mph over the speed limit

My brother was a security guard and was caught doing 125 in his little security escort.. $613 speeding ticket.. judge knocked it down to like $200 tho

the bad thing about 100 plus is the other drivers, I'd hate to hear all the complaining people would do if we adopted Germany's traffic laws for interstate travel...

100 plus with an unskilled driver sucks too!

Maybe at worst you can get off with community service and dropped to a 10 over ticket. If you don't want points and have cash get a lawyer. You will probably pay either way. Nick
