does your s14 gas light come on when you turn the key?

i have been trying to run out of gas to see if my gas light comes on. i get worried after i have been driving a few days on E and end up putting gas in. the tank is 17 gal but the most i could get in was 14.5 which suggests i have a bit left. when does it come on? 1 gal left?

is it supposed to come on when you turn the key like most of the other lights?

I have the same questions. I've run my s13 pretty low before but never seen the gas light. I suspected it was broken.

Mine doesn't come on when I turn the key on and I have never let it get below 1/2 tank unless I am on a long road trip but even then I stop to fill it up around 1/4 tank.

My s13's light comes on aroun an 1/8th of a tank. I don't beleive that light comes on when I start it though.

I wonder about mine too. it doesn't come on with the key, but I drove around on empty for a few days and it never came on, and when I filled up the tank I only put like 12.5 gallons in it. Since my 240 has about a 16 gal tank, I guess that my gas gauge is reading high and maybe I never went low enough. If anyone knows at what level the light is supposed to come on, please inform us

Mine doesn't come on when i crank the car. I have owned my 95 240 for two and a half years now. I have only had the low fuel light come on twice, and i have pushed my tank to the absolutel limits a few times, i'm talking way past the red line. Anybody know how big of a tank s14 have? I'm guessing it only comes on when you are really about out of gas. As soon as mine has come on i've found the nearest gas station.

i ran mine down to 2.14 gallons left in the tank and then NEEDLE is like way below the point

Mine has never come on... most I've ever filled up is 13.9 gallons, which means I still had a good 3 gallons left.

I dont think gas lights come on when u turn the key, I've never seen a car do it. I've had to put just past 16 gallons in b4, I think the light comes on when u have like 1.5-2.5 gallons left.

I think the light is behind the picture of the fuel pump on your fuel gauge...

you gotta be entirely on fumes to get the light. the light is a fuel exclamation point. when its that low, left turns almost starve the engine of gas, if you see the light......only right turns or stay away from traffic. i went 2 1/2 months under E adding only $5 to get to E when i had the money.

Mine comes on (once so far) with what seems to be about 2 gallons left. Light came on and I drove about 25 miles then put 14.5 in it. Thirty bucks later, ouch.

well, on s13, at least the 89 years i dont kno bout any later, the light dimm's out, meaning as u start runnin out itll get brighter with the more gas u use. neat actually i think.... i believe the light comes on at about 3 gallons, i totally ran outta gas a while ago (when ur cars broke, always start it n run it for a lil while if it jus sits there) well i completely ran outta gas doing this, i put 4$ in it when gas was about 1.61 per gal. and that put me at a low dim light, ill take a picture of it woth the light on morrow and post it here

yeah, I tried to see how far I could go on 7.5 gallons before the light came on.

to keep the story short I ran out of gas. light never came on. me and a friend pushed it to a gas station at 3am and put $3 of gas in (all the money I had on me)

gas light was on the next day. so I don't trust it anymore.

On s14's it fades in and out when ur getting low and when it stays on you're really low.

well, here goes a trial for me! I never had it on yet. I guess they made it so when you're on E, to be safe, you'd of course fill up. Hopefully my light will work...

When my gas light comes on, it means GETSOMEGASNOW! One time i drove around a bit with it on, like an extra 10-15 miles or so, and my car took 15.75 gallons. 16 gallon S13 tank. That was close! I think its supposed to come on at 1 gallon fuel remaining.

Mine comes on at about 14 gallons consumed. It also comes on with 12.5 - 13 gallons and tossing her around a tight sweeper exit entrance at about 3 times the posted speed

Ive stuck my gauge float a couple times, thats scary the first time as the needle hits the gauge bezel and stays there. A few hard side to side jerks of the wheel while driving frees it up though.

lol.... my moms van, we have both ( me and my mom) drivin it to where the needle is about 2 1/2 needle widths below the bottom of the e line..... her light comes on right above e..... IT NEVER RUNS OUTTA GAS!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, it wasnt even misfiring either...... one day ima go around with 2 gallons of gas ina lil tank one day and drive till it runs out.... if it will

I've filled up 16.2 Gallons and that was because the low fuel light came on. So mine works.
