I know this is a dumb question, but the roadside assistance guy noticed this rectangular hole in my original Q45 key. He wondered if there had been a chip or something there.

Anybody know?

Mine has a hole in it where the key ring goes.

AND a square hole in it like you described, as well. It is normal.

Here is how I believe the original keys came:

Then again I'm not sure since my car came with 1 original valet key and 1 copy made by ILCO.

As long as we're talking about keys thought I'd post a photo of my key after I polished it! Oh, mine does have the hole in it as well as you can see

Close, yes. There were two of the big titanium keys in the original box (which was awesome, btw) and two valet keys (with the black plastic).

Can the original Ti keys still be bought? How much do they go for? Im sure they are a pretty penny from the dealer.
