so i have been just sort of dealing with this problem just because it is not too bad but still.

here is the rundown. the car when it starts cold it pulls just fine, no problem at all is fast, and responsive but then when it warms up the car has problem accelerating, it feels like it is being held back by something, the revs build up but slowly, and when running when i want to pass someone or something the revs just wont build quick enough, they will jump from around 2k to 3 or even 4k just in a second, and it is because i have to floor it or else the revs would build up and i would pick up speed but at a painfully slow rate.

also some times it hesitates when taking off
does this sound like a bad tps?

i have no error codes by the way. and i have not been able to test it with a multimeter, i am trying to get one

English is not my first language and i hope my explanation helps, and hopefully is understandable and if not please just ask and i will be more than happy to reply so that way i can get some help :D

I would check the voltage on the TPS. It sounds like it could be that or a MAF issue.

i will get a multimeter soon, my friend is lending me one.

edit: just seen is quite an easy job to replace the MAF

the problem is that the part is 150 bucks used from z1 -_- new is almost 450...

is there any way to test it first?

Email SpecialtyZ.com, they may have used tested MAFs for less. DO NOT get a generic one off eBay, or an AMS one (they're the same thing) and they're both junk. Used or new OEM only.

Testing the MAF you need to perform ECU Diagnostics. No tools needed

A bad MAF is:

12: air flow meter circuit

But that would also show your CEL, and if that's not on, I don't think you have an issue with the MAF.

interesting.

i will check the TPS hopefully tomorrow, see how that goes. then the MAF and run codes and what now.

and if none of that works i will just go ahead and check the PTU

really appreciate it!

there is an updated version of the PTU on COZ and Z1 as well i think. you will need the adapter harness as well.
it was $177 shipped from COZ to my place here in B.C.

ptu controls the coils and when is goes sour you don't get full spark...hence the hesitation and stuttering some complain of.

Nissan calls it a "trignition unit" now apparently.

when i got the parts department to price one for me and it was $230 my employee cost

funny thing, now that the weather all of the sudden got colder the car is more snappy and does not hesitate from a stand start as much.

i finally got a multimeter so i will test the tps and run codes and see what' up.
