does this sound familar to anybody?

Idle is great. On first start of the day it has no power to go anywhere. After a minuet or so it gets better and throttle input can be used, but if you gas it(doesn't matter what throttle position) in between idle and 4000rpm it spits and sputter terribly. However driving around at 4000+rpms it drives excellent and flawless.

anybody have any experience with this problem?
