The Q is where its at. We gotta grow up some time. Theres a time and place for the 240, but a man needs a car he can stretch out and be comfortable in.

Here's one for sale in DC.http://washingtondc.craigslist....html

Youve got alot of reading to do

(not tryin to be a d!ck)

For real, read up alot over the next few weeks.

Make sure of all the things that you need to know and check before buying.Of course , the Y33 didnt have the engine killing guides issue, but all cars have their own little things.

It does (on how to buy, inparticular), but you are missing the point.

Read the previous posts, starting with all, including links, by Q45tech. When you finish by Turkey day, you will know more than most service writers and techs. The FSM and TSB are available for download for a one day fee.

Buying one here almost guarantees you will get a well maintained one, which is paramount over color or options. In any case, one always obtains the service history first before even inspecting the car.

Nissans/Infinitis just decline in value faster than other Japanese brands (except Mitsu, haha). But they are quality cars and a helluva bargain.

Ive heard of issues with the G50, but not so much about the Y33. Ive been browsing the Q forum since the spring, and I havent seen much. I know repairs and maintenance costs are typical luxury car prices.

Still keeping the S14, right?

94, 97, and 2003 FSMs available for download here...http://carfiche.com/manuals020/cars/

You should know better than to go shopping for a car without asking me first

How's about you buy this one with fewer miles for half the price? http://www.cars.com/go/search/...wpost

Hell, I'll even go look at it for you, and then keep it safe in a garage until you can come pick it up. You've gotta find a way to get them the $$$ though, bank transfer would probably work.

Here are some more options across the country:

77k '98 from a Dealer for $6k? They'll negotiate further, and if it has big issues, they have to take it back. It's also way the hell down in FL, lol. http://www.cars.com/go/search/...wpost...$2500 for a '95 G50 with 87k? Can I hear a "FTW"? http://www.cars.com/go/search/...wpost\

There are lots more, but I'm lazy.

Buy Zinkie's Q!! When new, they were actually about 50k. And the funny thing about Nissan re-sale value in the US, is that it's not the same in Japan. Nissan is the #2 brand over there behind Toyota, yet in the US they haven't had the same success, but it seems they're turning things around over the past few years.

Hash, I'd think you'd know better, never buy a car from FL or TX ... too many ways to wash the title .

I live near Amelia and could go check out the first Q you posted.

The main reason for the drastic depreciation is they aren't Lexus and for the 90's Lexus WON the advertising and brand image building war. TOOOOOOOOO many people didn't even know what Infiniti was before the G35. And overall, Luxury cars drop pretty far at ~5-7 years.

True, it can be pretty easy to get away with stuff down there.

At that price though, I'd be comfortable if I could get an Infiniti Tech's A-OK on the car. So long as the title will transfer as "clean" to any other state and there isn't anything materially wrong with it now that someone of that experience level can pick out, I wouldn't be as concerned with it's history.

Now, if I was paying top-dollar, that'd be another story altogether.
