The last couple of days i've noticed some weird things about my car and couldn't remember if they were my doing. It wasn't until this morning when I found some cut wires in my front passenger fender well that leads me to believe someone has been trying to get into or take my car. Here are some pictures:

New scratches on the driverside window lead me to believe that someone is trying to break in with some nasty coat hanger or something:

The passenger side is worse:

This morning I found these wires poking out of the fender well:

Another picture after i pulled them into the bay:

These were just wires that went to plugs for the washer reservoir. My car didn't come with one and they have been tucked nicely in the fender without any problems until now.

My first thoughts were that my tire may have contacted them and ripped it off, but when I look were the wires have been, and how the wires look, it doesn't make any sense as to how it could happen. The ignition relay was also poking out of the bay and into the well.

My thought was that they were trying to get to the relay or thought they could jump it with those wires. What do you think? What should I do?

Being high up on the glass, it looks like the window is rubbing against something when it gets rolled down. Clean them, then roll them down and back up see if it comes back.

maybe those marks on the window are from a slim jim. idk but like biggie said being that high up possible rubbing when going up and down. but being on both sides that's what leaves me to believe someone did it. being the driver side you are more likely to notice the marks.

At least they suck at what they do, it takes less than 5 min with a coat hanger to get into a 240, I've had several friend lock themselves out of their car and had to perform lock out services for them.(for myself to :gapteeth: )

If its taken them two days they really suck at life :rotfl better for you though haha.

The window thing, like biggie said, looks like the window could be rubbing something.

The clean cut wires are definitely a red flag though

I had to do this last weekend lol, im rusty though took me 7 min. :rotfl

To the topic at hand, I've seen similar marks from a slim jim on a window before, but as stated i would check and see if anything is rubbing first. The wires how ever dont appear to have been ripped and thats the part that would worry me the most. If i were you i would disable the car when you leave it for long periods of time. I've been known to take my coils w/me at some places. :bigthumb:

lol. :bowrofl: :werd:

The cut wires do raise suspicion if you know there was no way the tire would rub on them. I'd say someone tried to slim jim your ride with the markings on the window. Disable your car and take the battery or steering wheel with you. :bigthumb: One night somebody put a Honda hatch with GSR rims on cinder blocks . I take the battery out and unplug the fuel pump if not driving the car for awhile. :)

If I'm not driving the car for a few days, I hide my shift knob, flip my hidden kill switch, and flip the other kill switch on the relocated battery. If I'm really paranoid, I'll even take the fuse for the fuel pump. Also, leave compartments open, so thieves can see there is nothing worth breaking in for. My car just got broken in today, and only a pair of mechanic gloves were stolen :(.

You need to get an alarm system... get one that when they get close to the car it beeps, and the second time your cars screams "PROTECTED BY VIPER STAND BACK"!!!! I want one so bad... haha But then if you hear your car you can run outside with a shovel... i dont think they will be bothering you ANYmore... once they see a shovel... they know you mean business and will burry them! LOL

Those wires look just like they were rubbing on the wheel or tire until they finally split. I have unfortunately seen it twice before - once on my car and once on someone elses. If you yank or cut wires they do not look like that. Also it does not take much, only one good rub. On my car it was a large bump at 70+, I felt/heard the tire scrape loudly only once and the wires were shredded like that.

the window mark isnt a sign of theft, mine has it also and i think it is just the guides in the door for the window getting wore out

Uh...This was over a 5 hour long drive with the wheel rubbing on it almost none stop going 80+ no clean cut or anything like in his pic.

Window guides missing or worn out. Happens on many cars especially older Camaros.

95 Zenki man:
The wires in the top picture are far from 'clean cut'. Notice how the copper strands are all different lengths. Looks a lot like your picture!

I still strongly believe tire rubbing is the cause here, no matter if it happened in one big scrape like me or over time like 95zenkiman. Especially since the window scrapes are seeming like they are also not a theft attempt since many others have them too.

I think the OP can relax a little. 8>)

Thanks for the inputs. Im paranoid about my car all the time and when I see something I didn't notice before, I freak haha.

Sucks about the washer plugs; I was going to buy a washer tank this weekend :/
