i read his problem and saw the clip, buthonesty, i don't understand it and can't judge if what he trying to say is make sense or really isa problem.

Here is what he describe his clip"Stance Coilovers refuse to rotate at the ball joint in the camber plate. Instead they rotate the threaded body around the piston, causing many problems."

I beg coilovers veterans in here pls throw some 0.02dollar.

Okay, I hear exact same noise when I make turns. I think I'm having the same problem. Should I lube up the ball joint or something? It's pretty annoying.

i literally watched that video over and over trying to make an assumption of whats wrong..

what hes doing is twisting the coilover while moving it to side to side..he say that the threaded cylinder is rotating around the shock(which it looks like it is) and not at the ball joint

i think he assumes that the coilover is supposed to spin at the ball joint.. which it isnt..(i think)when he moves it it moves side to side just fine..

my solution would be to lube the ball joint..(this conclusion is from limited experience and logic.)

One drop of WD-40 on pillow ball joint fixed the problem. Noise is completely gone now.

Technically the coilover is supposed to spin at the ball joint, how else would it spin when you turn the wheel?

Finally, I've the source of this clip.I have been posted in zilvia.net. There are many stance users found the same problem. Seemingly, it turn to be a malfunction of camber platewhich is supposed to be full circle rather than 2/3 circle.

THis really cast doubt on the stance product.Should i still going to buy it or should i change my route tocusco zero-1 or greddy.

i assume it would just be weaker, either way it seems like their machining specs are off, and a quality control issue as i figure qc would catch those things, or maybe thats how its sposed to be dunno i dont have stances, but it does seem odd

It has nothing to do with the design of the plate itself. It's more or less the distinguishing characteristic between plates that have a better spherical bearing vs ones that have a defective bearing (that does not rotate easily).

The strut should rotate at the upper mount. Rotating the strut body around the shaft itself promotes unnecessary wear on the piston and shaft seals.

I have something for you guys. I emailed Stance regarding this noise and they sent me a pair of new camber plate. Half moon shape one is new plate that they sent me. Flat area is supposed to face the motor. According to Stance, current ones that on my car are defective. Half moon one should have better bearing. Good thing that I haven't done alignment yet. I'll try to replace them this weekend.

I thought this thread is dead already.I am keeping my eyes on the thread at zilvia.net about the malfunction ofthose plates. Those people also get the new plates from stance as well. It's like 6 pages thread; I saw at least one guy trying so hard to fix this thing in every possible way until he gave up. This fact stop me from buying stance really. I wish I was in the time that Stance was so good as people in this forum praise them.

It's not about shape of the plate. It's about the ball bearing. If you got them recently, I'm positive you got the good ones.

Well, I know what you've been going through. Sorry about that. My new plates didn't work, so they shipped out another set yesterday. They took them out of coilovers from most recent batch and guaranteed that those plates are good.

Don't worry about your old ones. They will send you a new set. Some batches had a problem, but I gotta give credit to their customer service. Overnight delivery was offered, but I chose Ground. Just call them and they will take care of you.

Yep, I just called Stance myself - the guy said they made one bad batch.

He said it doesn't harm performance, and it's not dangerous in any way at all...

He said new camber plates will show up at my house in approx. 1 week

You boys know what Quality Control is all about???

Good customer service helps to make up for a poor quality product, but does not necessarily replace it.

each opinon is your own but i personally like stance, i think they make a great product just a one flaw that is easily fixed if u call them so the good service kinda does make up for poor quality product
