I'm wondering if the VG30DE has valve clearance or not, I'm getting close to 120k when the timing belt is supposed to be replaced and I want to make sure that if it breaks I won't be completely screwed.

No, if the belt breaks, you're hosed.
Good news is if you're not hearing any noises then you're probably fine till you hit 120K. The belt rarely breaks, it's the tensioners or idlers that fail, and they make noise first. If one of them go, then you're hosed as well.

The VG is an interference type motor, meaning when the valves are at their lowest position, and the piston is at its highest position, they will smash.
