sadly, no. I would have snapped up a Diesel V in a heartbeat if they offered one.

I second what EV says. The only diesel coming to the states is for the 09 Maxima which is made by Renault. Maybe in a few years they will put the smaller diesels in the Versa models.

I presume by "biodiesel conversion kit" you are referring to some sort of refining equipment to turn that WVO (waste vegetable oil) into useable biodiesel.

because modern Diesel engines can run biodiesel with no modifications.

However, it's best to run a biodiesel blend (like B20) in the winter because straight biodiesel or WVO will turn into gel in your gas tank during the winter.

The k9k Diesel engine can't run on BIO-Diesel (at least according to book)

you can download an english version of the European TIIDA here http://www.nissanservice.co.il...7.pdf

I'm still considering replacing my TIIDA to Megane 1.5 Diesel with M/T (no TIIDA with M/T here in Israel )

Best

Seems to me that would explain why the engine isn't sold in the US then.

I would have too! But alas, only Mercedes & VW have them here in North America. Everywhere else in the world you can get diesels in cars & small trucks. Nissan Frontier 4WD, for example. I get to see many different types when I visit my inlaws in Brasil. And don't forget alcohol fuel as well!

Unfortunately America is still fascinated with having a SUV or truck pulling a 20,000 lb 50-foot trailer @ 90 miles an hour...

And my favorite, propane. Where the tank is in the trunk and they make you get out of the car before they fill up. But then everyone stands right next to it, haha.
