Mine does, I think. I have made CDs with iTunes and Windows Media Player and they work in my S unit.

Yeahbut, when you made those CDs, you can select either making an MP3/data CD or audio CD. You might have burned an audio CD. Is it a normal length CD with a single album on it, or did you load a couple hundred songs on one CD? If the latter, then it's an MP3/data CD. I have the NAV head unit and it does play MP3 CDs. I made one to leave in there for when I forget to bring the iPod with. Jape -- CDs cost like 10 cents, why not just burn one and try it?

Mine doesn't. I think it's a shame that a car, in 2010, does not read mp3 cd. They totally dropped the ball on this one. I will soon be changing the stereo for one that does read mp3 cd and has a usb plug.

Can probably easily swap out an OE unit from either eBay or a salvage for cheap if you wanted to stay OE that does MP3 & USB... Harnesses are the same if you get one pulled from an '10.

For about 150$ I was able to get a new aftermarket stereo Pioneer with usb at future shop and a dash kit on ebay. Just waiting to receive the dash kit and will be installing it soon. I had a stereo that read mp3 in my previous car, and once you have that, you cannot go back. I still think Nissan made a poor decision not the have a stereo with mp3 capability in the Versa S. It couldn't have been that expensive?! :P

Well they had to add something to the SL for the higher price tag.

Well, here, the SL has a 6 cd charger with mp3 capability. A good compromise would have been for the S to have 1 cd with mp3 capability.. I have a friend with an old Echo and she has the most basic version, and it still reads mp3 :P

I was quite shocked when I saw the S couldn't read mp3, I thought it was a given in 2010 in new cars!
